sports exhaust
Discussion
Sorry, but I thought this 'put a bit of scaffold in' thingy was a 'half-way house' between the standard exhaust and the sports exhaust.

After unintentionally "modifying" my original system somewhere over Snake Pass i was forced to buy a new one.
I fitted a (then)Wedge Automotive supersports system which has shorter than standard silencers. The quality of Stainless seems to be superior to the old system.
Allied to a partial de-cat (pre-cats removed) the noise is deeper with popping and banging on the overrun.
Not too noisy for (some)track days though, was measured at 96db last month at Oulton park.

My understanding is that the factory fit sports exhaust is just a standard one with a straight through pipe. Mine was a factory sports exhaust but too loud for track days and I had it returned to standard by the opposite procedure to that described above.
