petrol rc cars????

Hi petrol heads its Tom here Paddy's son (aka satman) ive been looking for ages to get one of these petrol rc cars, but i just cant find them anywere, so i thought i would ask you for some advise were to look to get some good deals???.the only thing is i have a budget of about £100.00
So if anyone has one they may sell or knows were i can get one for this budget. (i would like to get a tuscan body for it) thanx

I have one you can have for £125.00 with an unpainted Tuscan shell , It has a two speed gearbox and can be seen running with everything needed including all the radio stuff , it runs on nitro/oil mix with a glow plug and ripstart cord , unlike the tuscan its 4wd but can be changed to 2 for donoughts!

You migt not be able to find them because you're looking for "Petrol RC Cars" when you search.
Unless they're really big, they dont run on petrol. The engines are usually 2 Stroke Diesels, and they run on a mixture of ethanol or ether and castor oil.
Try looking for "IC RC Cars", where "IC" stands for Internal Combustion.
I knew a chappie that was into that whole bag a while back, but his group made their cars and fitted model aeroplane engines. I'm pretty sure that you can buy them off the shelf these days, but they might be a bit outside your budget.

Switching to full pedant mode...
They're not diesels but glow plug engines. A wire coil in a plug in the top of the cylinder glows red hot due to the heat of combustion. The hot wire is what ignites the fuel rather than the heat of compression that is used in a diesel engine.
To start the engine a current is passed throug the glow plug using a battery. Once started the combustion heat is enough to keep the wire glowing.
I have had many RC cars over the years and have a couple of Nitro's at the moment.
If you are going to buy a nitro for that sort of money then it will have to be 2nd hand as there is nothing new for that price.
If you can try and go for a HPI. Their nitro engines, though not the fatsest out there, are very reliable, easy to start and last a while.
Just get a rolling chassis...does not matter about the body as you can pick up a Tuscan body to fit for about 20 quid from most model shops.
Main bit of advice when buying is try and find out how many times the car has been used & if it has been run in correctly....If the run in process has not been followed then the engines life will be a very short one. Also because the engine gets very hot & the parts are very small they tend to have a short life span...expect to replace a new engine after 20 hours +++
