After market air conditioning question
Discussion
Unfortunately the search mechanism on pH isn't working at the mo so i thought i'd post my question with the caveated apology if this question has been asked before.
Is it possible to fit an aftermarket airconditioning unit/system to a chimaera? and if so, has anyone got any details.
Regards,
N
Nick,
Stop teasing yourself go out and buy an new T350, Sagaris etc.
Spec it up to your exact requirements
This will stop you can I fit a turbo charger, air con, beat Steve's Cerb dilema.
ohh I do enjoy spending other peoples money.
Matt
Chim + Merc + ££££ = New TVR
Sorry I know this is of no use to the original question, IIRC a/c can be fitted later but its a couple of grand. So thats another 2 saved and towards a new car

get rid of the chimaera 400HC? (feeling faint...room spinning...vision blurring) (where's Nuggs when you need him)... that's just crazy talk
I think the idea of modifying an existing car appeals much more than buying a new one... even though it probably costs more in the long run.
i thought the air con would be around the £800 mark... which would be money well spent to avoid sitting in traffic roasting ones nuts off.

Some very silly stuff about packing in the 400HC
What are you talking about man?!! Do you not know that:
1. The 400HC has that 'moist' factor;
2. The 400HC blows Trinity's (and no doubt other's) skirt up;
3. The 400HC has an arse on a par with Kylie's;
4. The 400HC can snap knicker elastic at 100 paces; and
5. (most importantly)The 400HC is without a shadow of doubt, THE WEAPON OF CHOICE

ive been down this route.had a/con fitted to my first griff,cost nearly £3.5k.sounds an awfull lot,but for me it was well worth it,especially if your really happy with your car and dont want to change it.it also upped the value of the car when i came to sell it as its a rare feature and quite sought after.

Yes but only if you have the air con compatible air box . Costs around 2 -3K. If you don't then the only air con is to remove the roof.
I'm confused but then I am a pipe and slippers interloper from the S forum, SH has hit the nail on the head. Unless you have the only FHC Chim in existence what's wrong with reverting to the convertible mode or are you golf cart drivers going bl--dy soft. A/C my a-se! come on lad toughen up! It's time they brought back conscription yer all a bunch o' namby pambys over here
I'll go now, alright

You could be right, but I take the chimaera down to Italy every summer and trust me A/C would make a difference. You should try getting stuck on an Autostrada crawling at 5mph for 2/3 hrs, no breeze

its surprising how usefull the air-con is,i could never have another tiv without it now.youll use it a lot more than you think.its great for days when you cant take the roof off,when its raining or looks about to rain,and the std ventillation seems woefully inadequate.its also great for de-misting in winter etc.it greatly extends your luggage capacity in warmer weather as the roof doesnt have to come off. and lastly its also great to use even with the roof off,lovely cold air on your feet on a hot summers day
.it really does make the car a lot more useable/enjoyable.ps.the rubbish you here about the std a/c not being very effective is born from poorly set up/working systems(usually just the good old heater valve sync.)when working properly it works very well,and ive found it to be very reliable.
