Cart Cars

A fleet of TVRs will feature at the forthcoming Cart race at Rockingham speedway. Owners will parade their cars around the track with the racing drivers aboard before the race and in front of a crowd expected to number in the tens of thousands.

Great fun - a number (19 I think) TVRs took the Cart Drivers on their 'meet the crowd' parade lap just before the race. It was great - there I was driving slowly round the circuit - at exactly that speed that TVRs can't do. The thronged thousands were delighted, cheering and waving at me - oh yes, some bloke called Adrian Fernandez hitched a ride as well. He politely said that he liked the car, said he had never heard of TVR, and that with a little bit of work, then it could probably be a good fun track car. Thanks Adrian - never thought of that.

Yes I was there too, with Mr Andretti on board...

Gave some tips, like take turn 1 at a steady 80 in 3rd, slow in fast out you know all the things your driving instructor told you. I figured he needed the info because he's never quite matched his dad. He didn't seem too pleased when I told him that.

Seriously, he had a lot of chat about him, he signed my ticket and showed some interest in the car. (Said something about it being a bit like a Cobra - we built them as well until Shelby stripped his tractor down, didn't we)
