The plate orignially belonged to John Kent (Roops Dad) and was on one of his cars...can't remeber which one but there is a photo knocking around.

TVR 100 has been on all the press cars and is currently on the Tamora.

I didn't know they did a 200 Turbo! Was that for the Italian market?

The 280 Turbo (in the picture?) was at Back Home a couple of years back; still looks very tidy but then as it was the only factory coupe (AFAIK!!!!!!) it ought to be looked after! Chris someone was the driver?
Seem to remember that there was a black Turbo drophead for sale near me a few years back that claimed to be the prototype DHC, but mysteriously it had no chassis plate... ;-)

I though that car in the pic was a 200 Turbo. I know it's a Tasser and all, but pretty sure it was a 2 litre 4cyl (Ford Pinto type thing?) . Anyone care to set me straight...??? It was a one off for sure.

Italian market car (only one I heard of, but could well be more as I'm not the be-all-and-end-all) was a V8S sleeved down from 3.9 to 2 litres with a supercharger. Never went anywhere though. AFAIK, the 'charger ended up on an experimental 5.5 Rover block in TVR's 110 Landie...! double eek...!

TVR officially built 2 Tasmin Turbos, the silver FHC that was displayed at the 1982 Motor Show and a black convertible. Both were Ford 2.8 V6s that were turboed by Tony Jones at AVJ. Peter W used the fixed head for a couple of years, it's been owned by Chris Tierney from some time now. The convertible was used by Stuart H and was bought by Russ Bowers (Northants TVRCC RO in the mid-1980s). Lost track of it since then.

Until I get home tonight I won't be able to go through my collection of TVR pics but I estimate that the plate TVR100 has been seen on at least 18 TVRs

I seem to recall from the Egroups discussions that several black imitators have been passed off as the prototype DHC; obviously the chassis plate would give the game away! I did briefly speak to Chris but he was obviously otherwise engaged as he seemed a bit off-hand at a total stranger being interested in his car.

I still think it's a shame that whilst those two prototypes survive, others such as the Speed 8s didn't. You'd think the factory would be happy to recoup something from their investment.
