Do you mean the plug lead extenders, which keep the HT leads clear of the exhaust manifolds?

If so, these do need replacing frequently. I replaced mine along with the HT leads, and a fair number of them disintegrated in my hands...

should last (very) approx 5 yrs, some cars run with originals for much longer without a problem, some need replacing much earlier, basically if there are any issues such as loose fitting or misfire, i would say time for changing them.

one in particular on my car gets shaken off if i hit the rev limiter. needless to say this only happened early on in my time with the car.

They are supposed to be from an Opel, ahum, Vauxhal, can anyone confirm this.

Cavalier, about £8 each, but if you have Magnecor or similar leads the £2 non resistive ones from Tim are correct.

Tim I've not run with these 'extensions' for 3 years now and often wondered if I should, should I .

Harry, you don't need them so much on a V8S as the manifolds give more clearance to the plugs.
