No harm done to anyone by the sounds of it. If the owner is on here then sorry to hear about your car and hope you were not injured.

Remove & replace with single positive binding post high up in the engine bay is the only remedy IMO.
Putting a live, unfused +12V from battery together with a ground in a single connector is a bit iffy to begin with (I know of exactly zero OEMS that have their battery in a location where it's difficult to reach with jump wires or battery chargers that do this, the single + post in the engine bay is pretty much industry standard), TVR's execution that offers pretty much the maximum exposure to moisture, salt, grit and debris for the connector is inexcusable.
Rather than treating the connector as a 'service' item I'd say the proper engineering solution is to eliminate it altogether and sleep more soundly as a result.

Just to put the record straight....and before everyone goes off and removes their Anderson connectors!
The cause has been attributed to a fuel line failure in the engine bay.
A timely reminder I fancy!

As the vast majority of fires are caused by fuel pipes perishing in the engine bay, it is important to check and replace the rubber pipes regularly. Easily overlooked by a DIYer and probably some garages too. The cause has been attributed to a fuel line failure in the engine bay.

I thought by now that should be taken as gospel. The point about the Anderson connector still stands. nawarne said:

Glad you pointed this out … Cracks and perishing is very common with new Ethanol fuels , even more reason to get regular servicing from competent mechanics... unless YOU regard yourself as an expert The cause has been attributed to a fuel line failure in the engine bay.

some fuel line brands/sorts I guess, could also better than others? and ore better resist against heat and the E stuff they mix in the petrol.
and maybe more % E in the fuel, aren't helping either, for the rubber fuel hoses?
edit, just came across this to find what the E mend (I forgot) it tells also the story of failing lines >>

Why would anyone wish to spray fuel close to a running engine? The mind boggleshttps://www.facebook.com/dompowersperformance/vide...
