So, what's it going to be? My thoughts are either: -

a) A new 2+2 hardtop, to replace the Cerbera range

b) An entry level, i.e. £22-25000, stripped out coupe (Taimar/Vixen style), with a sleeved-down straight six of 2.5l, 220bhp.

Any thoughts, team?

If TVR are putting another of their own engines in it, then I want nothing to do with it! Stick something reliable in, and it starts to sound attractive, especially if it comes in at £25K-£35K! (I've heard far too many stories of TVR engine failures at ridiculously low mileage to have any faith in them whatsoever).

This years black is retro so it's a Wedge type FHC 2 + 2 with big burbling V8 then .
Failing that, it'll be a Tamora 'shooting brake' with cup holders for the rear passengers

I think we've covered this topic enough recently to consider this contribution a little worthless don't you?

How about concentrating on the excitement for once. And don't bother replying with more negative vibes as I'm not going to accept any of that crap today. Today is HAPPY DAY

Er, Ted...ok an'all, it's your train set and you decide which choo choos run and which hit the wrong sort of leaves, but stuff like this does give us a benchmark by which we, the less initiated, can judge wether to part with our hard earned, or not. There is a view out there and it's no use denying it...surely it's up to the factory/dealers to provide reassurance to counter?

If this is a discussion forum, a fair non-virtual analogy would seem to be an average bar and in those I frequent I haven't noticed anyone saying "you can't say that, we had that conversation yesterday..." If they did I might not frequent them much more.

Okay, point taken but over emphasis of some points can result in a misleading image being presented and I feel I do have some obligation to try and ensure a fair balance is presented.

Dip in here some days and you'd be forgiven for thinking TVR have never made a car that worked.

With regard to your analogy, this is also a form of entertainment and I don't want to be showing repeats all the time

My 2 cents... (worthless, you might say )

It is human nature to make more "noise" about negative things than about positive things, emotions are a funny thing...

So, I agree with Ted moderating the quantity of negative stories about the same subject. Anything repeated ad nauseum would make you bilious, so to speak.

Worry only when our moderators resort to Orwellian levels of censorship, (and I don't think there is a danger of that, witness the wide variety of, (sometimes risqué), threads, topics, opinions, rants, jokes, assistance, banter, nonsense and general gassing).

I LOVE TVR'S, especially my little beastie.

It's so f***ing special to drive a TVR here in Germany.

You get a lot of attention and best of all, the lovely girls here in Germany love the design and admire your stylish lifestyle. G r e a t !!!!

Christof* love the car, like the people at the factory and admires Mr. Wheeler*

Must admit I've been looking for a cerbie now for quite a while and at first looking thru these threads put me off. After a while I've realised that its just the same old story being trotted out time and time again.

Here's to perserverance.

I must admit that if TVR was to produce a low cost machine with a simple engine, e.g. ford V6, I'd be a lot less worried about what the companies doing these days.

Wasn't it the S that revived TVR? Then the Griffith and Chimera with their cheap, simple and rugged approach? The Tuscan, Tamora and Cerbera IMHO are now too expensive and fragile.

I read an interview with Mr. Wheeler in Fast Lane a number of years ago when the S had just come out and the rest of the range were wedges. A group of young designers approached him with some ideas on where TVR should head (which, in retrospect, looked suprisingly like the Griffith and Chimera!). What was interesting was that he said he was happy about where TVR was heading and that in terms of numbers, provide he made less per year than Ferrari he'd be happy. What's the score now? More expensive cars, foreign markets, etc...

fatbutt - interesting point... when the Griff and Chim came out they were performance car bargains... now the range merely seems competitvely priced...

Maybe Marcos will fill the gap at the bottom end with their new Marcosite (sp?)
