Guys,

Some loathsome individual scraped the offside rear three quarters of my Chimarea in the work car park today. Needless to say they did not leave a note to apologise. Not sure how they could have done it, it's Viper Blue, so a bit difficult to miss. I'm going to see if the security cameras picked up anything, but I doubt there will be much to show.
A claim on my own insurance is out of the question - £1000 excess and all that entails with NCB etc. So I need a top-notch paintshop in and around Southampton. Don't think there is any bodywork repair, just paint.

It's off to Austec tomorrow for it's 12k service, but they're still awaiting the installation of their paint spray machine thingy. So any options/recommendations ?
Thanks in advance

Peter

If I were you, I'd be:

a) asking questions at work
b) checking every car for the next month to find the damage
c) complaining to your boss

I checked out the potential culprits i.e. the BMW in the next parking bay, but no joy there. I suspect that they just moved to another spot, and given that I work in the biggest bank in Bournemouth, with a 1000+ cars in the car park, finding the guilty party could be a long job. Guess I'll just have to rely upon our ever viglient security guards and there all-seeing cameras ! Oh well it's only money - aagh !

Thats a real sh*t the way people damage others cars like that. Our shopping car is full of car park dinks and dents, everytime its parked it seems another clown dings it. Lucky for us its an old bus, but to damage your P&J, what a pi55er.

Thanks guys,
Slightly better news this morning. Took it into Austec this morning, and they are able to do the paint job at the same time as the service. So should be back with me by the end of May.
So 12,00mile service, new rad,full underbody seal, and now a £350 + vat re-spray = £££££££££££££.
Looks like my 'Escape from the daily work grind' plan will have to be put on hold for a little while.
At least I had a lovely drive up the A272 this morning in bright sunshine with little traffic....that really is a splendid road.
Lots of nice Tiv's at Austec, some I recoginise from on here.

I had my S3 only 4 days when some fatherless person went the full length of the passenger side with their bumper in a car park without stopping which meant the money I had put aside for nice things like kick plates and shiny bits went on a paint job.

Sympathies.
We had 2 in less than 9 months but more severe than a little tap.
Same parking space, front end (both times) and both hit with Astra's, both drove off leaving no details. First 3rd party is being taken to court by the Police, 2nd maybe.
Sorting one claim out is a nightmare but 2 at the same time is horrendous.
Managed to get CCTV coverage both times and find the culprits.
People just don't care about other peoples property.
Suffice to say new parking spot acquired (allocated numbered parking).
