How can you possibly describe the Tuscan R as Ugly?
It's like describing Nicole Kidman as a hag.... outrageous. Ok, ok, so it's all totally subjective but I think it's by faaaar and away the best looking car I've seen in years.
Now the Aston Zagato... there's a Pig on wheels.
As for Clarkson, well I suppose this was inevitable. He's reached the top... stopped doing "proper" motoring journalism a long time ago so we shouldn't be surprised that he wants his airbags, cup of tea maker and arse warmer.
He'll be selling lifestyle products next, which is a shame. He still has a great writing style though.

I think if you read the article, tongue is very firmly in cheek.
Plus the tuscan R is the most extreme (and very low volume)road car that TVR will make, for all the 'supposed limitations' reasons he describes he states that this is exactly how it is designed to be...
Styling is alwasy down to personal taste, hated the tuscan when I forst saw it, would love one now.
Doesn't detract from the rest of the range or TVR's ability.
I think TVR will take the point of view that the article will reach/be understood by the people that want a raw/wild 911/360, etc alternative, and then don't care what anyone else thinks.

Ah yes, that's where I went wrong.
As the article states, JC and PW are very firm friends so I wouldn't put it beyond JC to be pulling his leg a little. However, I do think JC is going a little soft in his old age.
There are rumours about a new Top Gear involving JC... triumphant return? or like so many sequels, will it be like undressing Catherine Zeta Jones only to find she's wearing incontinence pants... disappointment.
