I'm new to PH and the TVR mark so could someone tell me how to tell the difference between the 4.2 and the 4.5 cerbera.

I know the engine looks a lot different and the badge says 4.5 but is there any little "only in the know" ways to tell.

Reason being, I done a HPI check on a one in Fernies and it's come back as a 4.2 and not a 4.5.

Any ideas?

Check the logbook, if that does not tally with what the car is being sold as, then you will need to see service history for any engine modifications.

Everything checks out with logbook etc, dunno where the engine number is but it is a 4.5, its got the horney trumpet things in the middle (that looks the dogs bo11ox)

Its just the HPI check, why would it come back as a 4.2? Could they get it wrong?

If its an early one the factory did register a lot of 4.5's as 4.2's. Would suggest you give the factory a call with the info you gave to the HPI guys and see what they say.

On the whole Fernies have a pretty honest reputation.
