Not been my day!!

Found out that some utter T*8T had clipped the rear nearside of the Chimaera yesterday and not left a note or a phone number to say they had done it. How dishonest people can be - second time this has happened to me this year when the car was in a car park. First time the offender left a note and we agreed they would pay for the repair.

Then this morning got stopped on the M3 at Hook by a black Volvo V40? estate and a fixed penalty notice - cant be bothered to go through the hassle of court etc. Fair cop guv. Just pay the £60 and get on with it. The plod was extremely matter of fact and did not treat me like an idiot, just went through the process and we both go on with our day. Shame though he wasnt out catching some real crims.

Oh umm the joys of driving in the UK.

Hopefully that will be it for today - cant take anymore crap!

;-))) Paul

On the basis that things go in threes, I reckon you'll bump into an old female college mate who remembers you as a fantastic lover, who has been at the World School for Satisfying Stressed Men for the last three years and is desperate to try out her techniques. She will own two TVRs and will lend you one while yours is being repaired and will take you to her house in the country to introduce you to her techniques along with her 8 girlfriends.

I am Mystic Meg's brother. Trust me

Anyone know of a good TVR body repair shop in the Wallingford/Abingdon area? I will try Ewelme Coachworks tomorrow.

Mines at Ewelme at the moment. They seem like a good bunch.

Thanks - they seemed ok on the phone this morning. The website shows that they are well setup. I hope they are reasonably priced.

When do you expect to back on the road with yours?

I'll be honest and say that they are not as reasonably priced as some but they said 5 days and I have just spoken to the dealer and they are a bit ahead of schedule by all accounts.

When I went there with mine there was one almost identical having some warranty spraying done on it and the quality of their work looked amazing.

Oh, and their website, very classy isnt it. Where are you Ed?

Matt.

Plotloss,

Thanks for the comments. Hopefully the work to repair this wont be too extensive. It isnt a big scrape but has taken a chunk of the top layers of paint off in places but the worst bit is the chunk of Grp that goes about halfway through the thickness of the shell. The light cluster cover is also cracked. Otherwise thats it.

Take in tomorrow for them to look and quote for.

Good news - sometimes having a partner who wont take any crap is really handy. On Wednesday evening she suggested calling the hotel to see if they had CCTV on the car park. The did and guess what they have footage of a delivery lorry hitting my pride and joy. No view of the license plate but the name of the company on the lorry is very visible. Today she chased the company down and we have informed them of the situation. The company manager not very impressed with his driver and they are co-operating fully to get the claim sorted.

Looks like a result !!!!!!

Thanks everyone for the responses.

Mine is Starmist Blue as well, surprised I havent seen you around. Hope your diff problem is sorted out.

Well that's a flippin result and a half. Obviously a pi**er to get hit in the 1st place but at least some delivery bod has egg on his face and probably none to popular with the boss! Nice to catch 'em!!

Hopefully will get it all sorted out in the next week or two.

If my other lovely half had not suggested calling the hotel I would have been 500 smackers down. Great girl she is too!
