After my rad decided to dump its contents after getting home from a blat, I looked on here to find a good stockist.
After curiously finding how many arms & legs a TVR dealer wanted for one, I tried a national one, who's name rhymes with Berk
Anyway, I took it to them, after they said on the phone that it would be around £100/£110 mark but needed to se it.
Got there to find out that the rad measuring(
) guy was'nt there, so could I leave it with them. Along with a contact number.
Next morning I got a message that it would be £170. Bit of a jump from £110 guys....
So I looked back on here to find out another place. Thats when I see the name of Kempston Radiators, as recommended by Balistic Banana. I phone them up and straight away the chap on the other end says "Oh yes, it'll either be £108 plus VAT, or £118 plus VAT.
I duly pick my rad back up from 1st place and off I go Kempston in Bedford. I arrived to find a small family run business and a friendly face behind the counter.
The chap looks at the rad and says, "yup, that'll be the £108+VAT one. That'll work! Honest too!
Within minutes I was off again and told it would be ready in the morning.
And ready it was, nice and black and re-cored. After parting with £125, I put it in the boot and scamper off home marvelling at what a nice rad Griff was going to have when I get in
A day's work , and a few air locks later and she is running very nicely. Especially after buying cooler thermo and otter, and water wetter. Never goes above 90 degrees!
So, the moral of the story is; Why spend loads and get messed about, when you can go to Kempston Rads....
Cheers Balistic

Glad they worked out allright for you Tiv,
Like you said they are a Family run Buisness ,and they Know there Rads and there customer service.
I,d heard about them through someone at work saying about them actually making Rads for real old Classsic's aswell as doing the normall run of the mill Radiator stuff.
I was plesantly surprised when i walked in and they Knew my Radiator was off a tvr straight away, and then happily explained why i was having a problem with it having a slow leak just about everywhere down one end in the bodged tank.
Anyhow feel like im waffling know so hope u all know where to go now.
