I know its sad of me to post something like this, but I'm going to anyway.

After much time and expense, the garage extension is complete, and I can finally fill it appropriately

There's a foot spare either side, plenty to get in and out, and a lovely 'leccy door.

The rest of the pics are here, for the die-hard saddo's like me.

Nice clutter free garage. Whilst I can't boast a shinny new Tuscan in the garage, I delayed getting my toy until I got a lovely double garage built. A condition from the boss of the household was that whatever I got, her car was not going to be left out in the rain to accommodate it , hey I know my place anyone that says otherwise is either divorced or lying .

It's big enough for two of the cars and room to work and walk around the outside of both. Best thing I ever did, well apart from getting the grown up toy .

I always feel that Tivs deserve a garage and the ones left outside in all weathers need adopting and bringing in from the cold and wet, sad I know .

When I get my next TVR the wife is going to have to put up with her car being outside under the carport, my other car is already outside anyway.

..I now see I am not the only one to have pics of TVRs covering the garage walls! Whilst I cannot boast a new Tuscan (Chim 450) my girlfriend called me sad for putting up various posters, etc. and also was nearly splitting her sides when I insisted on carpeting the garage floor (using old living room carpet) and covering the walls to prevent door scrapes. Am I really that sad? There must be worse out there....come on - help here....

Nick, your not alone mate,
Carpet on the floor and walls where doors open, posters on the wall, and have even had pictures of car and previous cars (Griff, MGF sorry! and MGBGT) framed and hung on the walls as well.
Don't need the kettle, as have the missus well trained to fetch and carry on command

I take it the dehumidifier and heater is out of camera shot. No mains socket for the trickle charger although not as bigger issue as that of the Griff (battery access and all that).
Could do with some floor paint.
How about mirrors on the ceiling so you can look at yourself sat in the car with roof off.
Oh and a nice black dust sheet to cover her up with.
OOOOHHHH ARRRRRE

Sorry I,ll go take a cold shower now.

If you have a garage, get down to B+Q, and buy an electric door opener - they're only £150 or so, self, assembly (takes a couple of hours) and plug into any ordinary plug socket. I've had one for 5 years, and it's still working perfectly, lifting a very heaavy 16' double garage door. Just a bit of advice!!

I must take some photos, could be a "lets see your garages" thread.

I've had similar comments from Mrs B "Why do you need to carpet the garage", "Why do you need a fridge in the garage" etc worst of all is "Why can't I keep the garden tools in the garage" has anyone found an easy way to explain this ?

Nice one Steve, "Goddamnmonster" looks very at home

Ben (sad enough to want to see the other pictures)

Garage = car
Shed = garden tools (or an old Capri )

Just say no or suggest the tools are kept in the kitchen, this worked for me

I've of this opinion too. Car stuff in the garage - no mowers, bloody trippng over flowerpots, old wellies etc. I've got a couple of long shelves full of car stuff, polishes, paints, underseal, oil etc (although not as bad as Ed T's ).

Yes, looks very nice Luca. Who's going to start thi garages thread then

Luca, what digi camera have you got. Gonna buy one but can't decide on the spec. Is 3 mega pixels a 'must have'. Do I REALLY need mpeg sound? Sony Cybershot seems pretty good value to me. Anyone got one?

£1000. Expensive, but I had to get a sectional door so it didn't open on to the pavement and hit someone. Its from a local place, get in touch if you want the phone number (New Malden, Surrey)

I'm going to get some lino for the floor, and finish the polystyrene on the walls. Easier than painting, and better insulation. If you look at the other pictures, you'll see a nice chair at the far end of the garage, for when I want to be really sad, and just sit there watching it....

Got the power socket ready for the trickle charger put in when garage was built. Mole Valley gave me the CoverCraft cover when I got the car, keeps dust and falling polystyrene/hardened glue from messing with the paint. Thinking about putting a few halogen spots in the timber section of the roof, but that would be REAL sad.

Absolutely. Makes all the difference, huge range...door opens like the bat cave, ready for the batmobile....cool/sad (delete as applicable)

Nikon Coolpix 950 2.1 megapixel, more than enough for putting pics on the web. Takes pics up to 1600x1200. Reduce then significantly for web use. I like the Nikon, because of the swivel feature...point the lens at the subject then rotate the LCD screen section to help compose the shot. Sounds daft, but in practice is incredibly useful.

What camera you go for depends on what you types of picture you want to take, and what you intend doing with the results. If you want to print on A4, go for a high megapixel number, otherwise go for one where the reviews say excellent colour balance for accurate exposures.
Get in touch if you want to have a natter about camera choices.

Yaeh, I bought a Fuji 6900 - 3Mpixel, interpolated to 6Mpixel if you don't mind 18Mb file sizes, and 3 photos on your memory card! My only gripe is that the autofocus is a bit slow! Incorrigible, have you found this?
