There are a few things about a quarter mile time:
Firstly in a very powerful car a lot more is down to driver skill than in normal cars due to excess of power over grip.
Secondly getting a fast time is very abusive of the car, to a level most owners wouldn't tolerate.
Thirdly it has very little to do with real world driving. In fact if you optimised any car for the quarter mile it would be a total dog on the road.
There is a cerbera owner who ran on strip a few years back now, I believe he pulled an 11.5. I'll see if I can dig it up. He was on slicks too, and he made a comment that if his suspension was tuned just right for the strip, there is potential for low 11's possible late 10's!
TVR's, big power, lightweight, suspension for the road, a differential which just aint up to the job for straight line bangin on slicks, wheelspin frenzy, all in all, not a good combo for dragging, but even then, we still pull 12's.
Sooner or alter one of the cerbie lot is gonna get his baby tuned just right for the strip, there seems to be an increase in dragracing interest over in the AJPV8 world...
(I personally cant wait to see Craigs NOS cerbie when its development work is complete)

My Cerb 4.5 with Emerald has done a 12.3 sec 1/4 mile at 119mph, suspension, wheels and tyres as standard, plus it was only the second time I'd tried doing the 1/4 mile, driver technique does play a part, as do the conditions at the strip, but ultimately you need the power under the bonnet.
The Saggy's 1/4 mile run will have been done by a competent driver, but I would have expected a quicker time than 12.7, maybe 12.5? A Tuscan S will probably be a tad slower.

Not sure how reliable the numbers are, and the point of the page is to say bikes are faster than cars. No Sagaris though.

and i think david smith did 12.9 at SP when we were all there? his first time too i think.
the cerberas should in theory be a lot slower over the 1/4 mile than the newer tvrs .. longer wheelbase, heavier weight .. but they consistently show the newer cars the way to go.
12.3 / 119 is a bloody quick car
13 seconds / 100 for a t350 is pretty poor, that car must be very down on bhp to have such a low terminal speed. my 100k mile v8s is only 10mph slower...
Hi Jools, yes Dave Smiths 4.2 with about 345bhp did 12.9 secs at about 110mph and that was his first time. Jasonben in his Cerb 4.5 managed a 12.4 sec 1/4 on the same day and the conditions were terrible for dragging with all that rain.
Cerberas do tend to perform very well in comparison to the other TVRs.....especially Emerald ones...
