Have any of your TVR owners ever had there car spat on or keyed or anything like that? Like most Ferrari owners?

Or is it a case of respect rather than jealousy?

TVR's look built for speed and are comparitively small, whilst ferrari/lambo's and the like are bigger brasher and look more like trophy/flash/poseur cars and as such get the unwanted attention. all imho of course.

Some t**t keyed the roof of my Tasmin about 2 weeks after a total respray; to be 'fair' they also did 4 other cars in the street.
So I guess that makes it OK.
NOT.

Had a fag stubbed out on the wing on my car,but i think most vandalism is reserved for ferrari and lambo owners.I know of a diablo sv owner near me who has had enough of the car with the unwanted attention it keeps getting,he constantly finds spit on the car but the final straw came last week, whilst out having a meal at a restaurant,on leaving he found some one p**ing over the front of it,he,s now putting the car up for sale.

I came back to my car parked in a nice bit of reigate, surrey, to find spit on the window... must have been a ferrari owner who objected to me parking my cheap TVR outside his house

seriously though it doesn't bother me, I'll still have a bloody nice car and the loser can enjoy his or her rusty fiesta. *shrug*

Some tw@t in a transit van started lobbing coins at me while driving down the M62, some of the passengers joined in leaving some rather nice dents and scratches in my bonnet. (still fuming about this over a week later)!!!!!

FFS report that to the Police. Get them to scour the CCTV etc.. to find the s who did it. Did you have a passenger? Did the van have a works No?

I have not really had much trouble with my Chimaera, only the boot has been keyed quite gently is a rather smoothly drawn figure of eight. A*@e.

The Cerbera had it's roof keyed 3 weeks ago, about a six inch long scratch down to the primer.

In three years of ownership with the Chimaera, I had the drivers door mirror ripped off. Then the passenger window smashed, just after getting it back from having it repaired after the first 'attack'.

Generally, though people just go 'nice car'. However, there are a small minority of to55ers out there who just see a nice car, which they can't afford, and have have to try and spoil the pleasure of owning it.

Happened to me only yesterday morning, so this not an honour reserved only for exotics.

Twink was sitting happily snoozing in the high street when some little oik deposited a (very impressive) goober right in the middle of the windscreen, I was and am still livid. I know no actuall damage was done, but I can't help feeling a bit violated.

Just disgusting...gggrrrrrrrrrrrrr

So I feel for anyone it happens to. I hate to see any car that been demeened in such a mindless way. I utterly fail to understand the mentallity that leads to this kind of behavior, or see what they feel they have to gain. Shouldn't be allowed out of their cells!

Mouse.

...and to add insult to injury, we had our first frost the night before last.

Sorry to hear of your unpleasant incidents.

In my experience the TVR generates many appreciative comments and a few unpleasant ones. I have managed to avoid getting the car vandalised..although the driver's wing mirror always seems to be being banged into...

And this is NOTHING to the comments a Porsche generates. I've said it before. People see the TVR they see a nice car (that they may be jealous of) but when they look at a Porsche they just see the money.

I've had a few nice comments about my Boxster. And plenty of tossers yelling filth too, I'm afraid.

At the end of the day I've got two fantastic cars and they're life's losers who will never amount to anything - I've already had my "revenge" so to speak.

On a practical note I find it VERY important to choose where to leave the car. I simply don't take 'em anywhere they might have trouble. This is surprisingly few places, actually. (Again IME). I am considering buying a third car, though....

Sadly Britain has far too much undesireable scum on the streets who are too bone idle to get off their arses and make something of themselves, and so they decide to drag the people down who are the achievers to their level of misery in order to make themselves feel better.
When I have been out in the TVR, I have seen people fly into utter rage, even when i'm just tootling along gently, and yet you know that if you met these people socially, i.e. at a wedding for example, they would say "nice car mate". The mind boggles.

I can't say I've noticed any 'gobbing' incidents, but then the Wedge doesn't look as new or 'flash' as,say, a Griff, Tuscan etc. But I do get a lot of idiots standing and yelling at me as I drive past. What the hell is it with these morons? It must just be the Wedge shape, no other car of any value, speed or loud pipe seems to attract this attention ;-)

But then I've noticed that it only seems to be the Brits that have this weird attachment to cars, with all the attendant personality conflicts. Most of the rest of the world I've visited just seems to view the car as a tool, or mode of transport, which of course is its principal function.

Some moron tried and failed to rip the badge off my 911 some months ago left a hefty scratch mark behind it so hidden by new one, perhaps we should stand about the retail parks at 2 in the morning hurling abuse at the beanies for having such stupid looking primermobiles..

Some arse decided to put a nice scratch down the drivers side wing of my Cerby about 1 month ago.

A very nasty one, down through the paint to the GRP. Starts just inside the Light cluster, and goes all the way to the side indicator repeater.

Not a happy chappy :-(

Luckily you cannot tell unless you are a couple of feet away (joys of pearlescent paint).

Just glad I didn't get it resprayed about 3 months ago to get rid of all the stone chips and minor parking scuffs (not my scuffs, but where total ARSEHOLES cannot park without using their bumbers - or exhaust in 1 case)

So depressingly spot on, this.

And Wedg1e's bang on, too. Britain has cultivated a venerable army of green eyed, something for nothing merchants and for any performance car owner, the resulting 'where can I actually go/park my car" syndrome is a nightmare.

I dread to imagine the worry of the Lambo owner. It's as if you're 'not allowed' such conspicuous consumption anymore. You're just not allowed to get on in the UK. Bag of crap.
