Had a engine rebuild in my Cerbera, just under 1000 miles ago, and need to get the tappets checked. Is this such a complicated job that it can't be done by a non-TVR approved quality mechanic? It's just that all the local dealers I've rang can't fit me in for 2 weeks and I want to use the car.
Anyone know the pros and cons to be aware of when I have the adjustment made?

cheers

You can certainly have it done by any local Cerbera independant specialist - I'm sure someone can suggest somebody local to Essex. I did a 1000 mile tappet check with Joolz from www.joospeed.net. None of them needed adjusting, so it was several hours taking all the covers off then sticking them all back again

I got mine do by APM (foc) but it would have cost about £150 - £200 all in I guess which is about £400 less than I think it might have cost me elsewhere.

Aren't the dealer covering the 1000 mile service after the rebuild? They should be ! (or was it a privatley purchased car??)

Work done via TVR Power in Coventry and they are willing to do it. If all else fails, I may drop it off there end of the month, as my dad lives 5 miles from them. It's just the hassle of taking a day off work to get it up there.
