I've had my Griffith (1992 4L Pre-Cat ) laid up for a few years now and need to get it back on the road, ready for sale. It needs some work and an MOT, can anyone recomend a garage that can carry out servicing and some repairs and an MOT? Ideally in the Middlesex/W. London area.

Thanks.

Your nearest TVR specialist will be Str8Six.

http://www.str8six.co.uk/

About a 40 minute drive heading west out of London down the M40.

What sort of work?

Is it the sort of thing any competant independant garage could do?

There was a guy recently, ex dealership I think, who was setting up as a mobile TVR mechanic. Might be more West country, can't remember now?

It doesn't really need to be a 'TVR' specialist, just someone who understands older classic cars. Needs a new main beam light, door mirror is loose, a few other small bits. Just need it checked over and a service and MOT, last one was a few years back. I've done most of the maintainace with a local mechanic, unfortunatly he's now moved.

I could do most of it myself but I just don't have the time, that's why the car has been off the road for too many years! It really is time it went to a new home.

I live in London - use Dan Taylor TVR... he is superb. I have used a lot of the London / SE ones before him as well.

Thanks for all the advice. Due to being stuck at home it was a perfect opportunity to do some work on the Griff. Fixed most of the bits myself, also carried out a mini service and the engine is running well. Just need to arrange an MOT, although no rush as I can't see me driving the car much at the moment, managed to find a local garage that does a few classics and has done TVRs in the past.

Thanks, I've used Topcats before, it's an hour each way for me, main issue is getting back and forth, don't have anyone who can give me a lift.

When you get the bill, it will be as much as the car is worth

Three TVR’s later with all looked after by them, I can categorically say this is nonsense.
