anyone got a accumate?......need some advice

Just bought a accumate, couple of questions.....
ciggy lighter socket dosn't work when ignition is off.
Does this mean i cant charge it by adapter that plugs into the ciggy socket? (ie: there is no power supplied) if so do i have to remove the battery leads every time i want to use the crocodile clips? or can i leave the leads as is, will it harm the electrical circuit? Use the croc clips on the battery and no dont take of the leads
Mine sits happily all year round connected - unless I go for a drive then of course (before someone else syas it!) I take them off - otherwise it'd be a short drive!!

I use an optimate cable tied to the ceiling of the garage and "round robin" the charging/conditioning between the 3 bikes and the Griff and I always croc clip onto the bikes batteries "over" the other connections, and use the ciggy lighter for the car (it's an easy mod at the fuse panel to make it a permanant live) There is never any need to disconnect anything.

Oh yes and Mark are you going down to the Kent meet on sunday.

cheers mel, regards kent meet.... am working....The F1 season is nearly over so i wont be travelling every 2 weeks so will be able to get down to a meet at last! gonna miss yet another viginia waters meet too. This work lark is getting out of hand!

I just connect via the cig lighter - works perfectly (Griff 500). I don't think my cig lighter works either when car off so I guess should work for you. No need to disconnect battery.

I just plug straight in the cig lighter socket - mine is live when ignition is off (96 Griff 500)
