Saw this in this month's Sprint, which referenced the ad on PistonHeads.

The guy made some moulds for the hardtop. Looks quite good, may be an option for those of you lucky devils with a road going race car.

JSG saw the very same thing in Sprint and your right the roof looks pretty tidy. I should send the guy an e-mail to check if he could make another and how many arms / legs he'd want to do it . The car looks awesome, with mega wide tyres and proper down-force it must corner like it's velcroed to the road!

I've got a mould for a tuscan racer roof (early type lent to me when i had a tuscan) have done one in carbon fibre for Streber. Have also just finished making a mould for a one piece carbon / glass dash.

2sheds, will the hard top fit without modification to the roll cage as I would be keen to keep things as origional as possible ie drivers hoop in tact. Was the hard top something that you used much when you had your car? Did it work well in practise? I'm off to Donnington later if you're going up i'll be around in the paddock, my car will be in with the Thames Valley Racetech team, we could possibly meet up.

Hi Grant, the hard top has provision for hoop on drivers side, i used it a couple of times in the Tuscan, but in the end opted to use the tonneau, it looked a little bulky IMO and as the car has no windows you still get a bit wet, i had made some gull-wing polycarbonate flaps that hinged from the top of the window aperture to half way down, with the intention of fitting the lower half to the door, but never quite got round to finishing it as the new owner didn't want the hard top, it used over centre clips to attach to car , Doesn't look as good as the one in sprint but may be a cheaper option as i still have the mould, to be brutally honest i think the cars are better without and i only tried it because of my obsession with making new things !
The new dash is funky though.
Sorry won't be at Donnington.

Tim, sorry i've not responded sooner. How much might it cost to construct another h/top? Unfortunately I'm on a tight/non existant budget. Who did you sell your Tuscan to? Are they local so I could perhaps have a look at your old roof?
Cheers - Grant

The old roof is still with me, belongs to Streber i don't know if he still needs it, its carbon & kevlar, not the prettiest roof but functional, i'll ask him.probably worth about £200 alternatively you could borrow the mould !!
