If it's a griff or chim, standard wire wool from hardware shop does the trick really nicely.
Get a piece long enough to double over for twice the thickness and long enough to wrap most of the way round the exhaust - get shuffling 5 knucklee stylee. Should take about 40 minutes to have both all lovely and shiny again.
I used metal polish afterwards, but don't think would bother again.
No ramps required to do this on griff, just long arms.
I thought they are supposed to be stainless, which doesn't rust.....
