Exhaust rust

Any suggestions on the best way to remove (what I hope is) surface rust from the exhaust and make them look all shiny again? Not a lot of room for getting under the car to do stuff like that, was gonna buy some ramps from Halfords or similar - good idea?

If it's a griff or chim, standard wire wool from hardware shop does the trick really nicely.

Get a piece long enough to double over for twice the thickness and long enough to wrap most of the way round the exhaust - get shuffling 5 knucklee stylee. Should take about 40 minutes to have both all lovely and shiny again.

I used metal polish afterwards, but don't think would bother again.

No ramps required to do this on griff, just long arms.

I thought they are supposed to be stainless, which doesn't rust.....

Get two grades of wire wool - course and fine. Course will get rid of the rust but scratch a little and fine will get rid of the scratches caused by the course. If you just use fine you'll be there all day.
Then use metal polish as suggested if needed.
