I was at Goodwood yesterday. As I stood studying a Sagaris outside one of the magazine exhibitors a chap walked up with his mate.

"That's Russian you know" he told his mate without a hint of humour. Thanks to Top Gear, he now believes the car is actually Russian.

Hi Ted, I was there all day yesterday and I sadly have to say that I thought the TVR presense was poor. The Sag didn't arrive until late (a couple of people remarked that it had probly broken down on the way!), had a scrape on the front spoiler and was filthy (parked in the supercar paddock) and the T2 front was covered in squashed bugs again in the supercar paddock along with all the others marques that were pristine.
No TVRCC, no dealers and nobody from TVR with the cars to answer any questions. All in all I was very disappointed.

This is the sort of basic PR that it is so simple to get right. It makes you want to scream.

I think we need to get away from the idea that Clarkson is a div.

The man is not a div, he's a ct, pure and simple.

I hope you put him right, Ted.

I was there also. It also pained me to see the Sagaris (you know the orange one that's been on the telly and tested in all the mags) looking frankly, shabby. It was filthy, and all the rubber seals around the bonnet and bonnet vents were mis-shapen, and or coming loose. The wheels had some brake dust on them.

It looked like a punter's car that had somehow made it into the enclosure from the car parks!

I walked everywhere looking for Tivs, and aside from the rather bland looking silver Tusc2, there was one orange Griff on some low-key stand, and that was it. PATHETIC.

I too noticed the poor fit of the seals on the bonnet of the Sagaris. Not good on a 'show' car.

No TVRCC.

The TVRCC would have been delighted to attend this year, but the cost of a pitch was way too high, in previous years we have always been invited to attend.

The SELNWK posse of the TVRCC wil be attending the Bromley Pageant of Motoring tomorrow en masse.

I wonder if the TVR workforce is rebelling a little!

Agreed by me there too..

That is annoying - we need to make an agreement that if we hear that again we need to sort 'em out..

In true Harry Enfield and Chums Style:

I'd see one of those mis-informed motorsport event attendees looking at a Sagaris and making comments about it's supposed Russian nationality then i'd say

OY! YOU! NO! I'VE ADMIRED YOUR NON-STOP TYRE-KICKING FOR THE PAST 2 HOURS BUT THINK ABOUT IT.. WHERE'S THE TVR FACTORY LOCATED MATE? NOT RUSSIA IS IT?

Dave
Sorry for people who have never seen Harry Enfield

Like him or loathe Jezer, he is rich, succesful, a master of the one liner delivery and so influential he is getting to the point where he can almost make or break a new car launch...

Look what he did to the Vectra, the Signum etc.etc.

It is great to see him taking a bit of good natured stick over his new Ford GT!

No, Tiff is on 5th Gear now - left Top Gear some years back.
