Last night, 4 months after a £2000++ respray some little toerag keyed the bonnet and nose, right down to the GRP. Dontcha just love urban living!

I would like to claim it on my insurance (£500 excess). Any one advise against it?? how much will they increase my premiums by in your experience??

Hey ho

Don't know how it will affect your premium. Have you got protected no claims?
All I can say about the matter is, absolute cts

WHY OH WHY DO THEY DO IT?

Sorry to hear that Olly - this is one of my greatest fears, some keying my car..

I am so paranoid about my car where ever its parked
i try to check up on it as much as possible and never leave it parked on the street.

If its a trip to the cinema via car park,
i make sure i park it away from any other car & directly under the security cameras

I always have that paranoia when I leave my car unattended. We shouldn't need to worry really. Why do some scrotes feel the need to damage other people's property.
It's sick, that's what it is.

Had a quote for a bonnet and front end re-spray whilst my Cerb rear was bieng sorted.... The quote was £500 all-in.

Save your no-claims as your excess could possibly cover it.

Well... at least get a quote to weigh up the options.

Whilst living in Virgina Water a few years ago, all the cars in the street were getting keyed, front to back.... Caught the blighter red handed...On VIDIO .. a 50 year old at 7:15 every morning was doing all the cars..... Called the coppers and after 2 months the answer was.... sorry couldn't do anything...

Catching them in the act is not as satisfying as it may first seem.... I now refuse to live in a non-gated property. Keeps every one else OUT!!!! 's

Blighter?!?!?!?! Bit polite innit?

If it was a regular thing, and it was my car, he wouldn't have any kneecaps left - 50 year old or not!

To quote Vincent Vega..."..what's more chicken sh*t than f***in' with a mans' automobile?! It'd be worth him doin' it just so I could'a caught him doin' it!"

I had the side of my car keyed not so long ago, it cost just over £500.00 for a respray in pearlesent purple paridise. I dread it happening again.

I would be going psycho wouldn't have been able to post on here due to rage...

Invest in a Security Camera, where did it happen this time and was it the same place last time? Car parks or outside your house?

There has to be some kind of security that does the job?

People are so jealous (come to think of it so am I but wouldn't dream of doing that to anyone's P+J.... unless it was Clarkson's Ford GT of course)

Dave.

Edited due to the small fault pointed out below!

That would have been a very different story if he has been driving past cars at 2mph over the limit with a key in his hand scratching them eh?
They probably wouldn't care about criminal damage just another crazy maniac who is a serious threat to the public taken from the roads.

Dave.

They obviously haven't got any balls to be doing this, so another method is needed.

Don't assume it was a toe-rag - it may well have been a deranged biddy around the corner who dislikes the noise.......

And the difference is ?

Surely it would be worse for a 'mature'?
Aren't they always banging on about 'respect'?

Would be slightly harder to smack a biddy in the face for keying my car.
Oh, wait. No it wouldn't!

I cannot imagine how these fers minds work!!
It really is just senseless.

My wife had an immaculate C230 Merc last year.
On returning to it in a supermarket car park, someone had damaged the door and rear quarter obviously while reversing out of the adjascent space. I had to have the two panels repaired and resprayed.

This happens all the time, I know. But the ct who done it decided to leave an extra surprise. Directly above the damaged panel there was the name "ANNA" scratched into the paint. like she felt she had to sign her handywork!!

What posseses these people?

Aye, but imagine your surprise if you thought it was some 14 year old lad, and it turned out to be a 60 year old granny.

Mind you, at least she'd have a house and some furniture for the baliffs to sell!
