Can anyone recommend a track day were you use their cars and not your own. A friend’s wife is trying to arrange him a track day.
The ones I’ve been on in the past I’ve always driven my TVR so I’m not sure what to recommend.
I think he wants to do sports / single seat type thing.

Cheers,
Nick

I went on the Audi one at Brands, I went with a couple of other real petrol heads and we were then only ones moaning that they wouldn't let us go fast enough / bloody rev limiters / I though this was meant to be a track experience etc

Also done the rally one, which was excellent, much flat out understeer /oversteer handbrake action

I have now worked out that if you have any level of Track Day experience that the racing schools are not for you. The instructors job is to ensure that the car comes back completely undamaged and with as little wear and tear as possible.

You on the other hand wish to use up someone else's tyres and brakes!

Seems to me the only way to do this is to do one of those track days where it is a real track day (with owner drivers there) and rent a track car for the day. Don't Bookatrack do something like this? That way whilst you can have instruction you also get the chance to use the damn car. After all - you are paying for it.

Won't be cheap though...

If your friend is looking for a great driving experience, very professionally organized and would accept rally rather than track, then I have no hesitation in recommending rally driving experience at Church Enstone in Oxfordshire (see: www.intotheblue.co.uk/rally-driving.shtml)

My wife bought me a half day course at the Church Enstone course and it was excellent. At the wheel for over 20 miles of a mixed gravel and tarmac stage plus a flying lap by the instructor. Timed sessions as well so it's competitive. Great coaching, super organisation and damn good fun :sidewaystuitioncomesinhandyinthetvrtoo!:

I can also recommend an excellent local hotel/restaurant for post-experience R&R.

Try BookaTrack, they'll rent you a Caterham Superlight for £795 a day all inclusive. Sounds a lot but if you share this between two people it's pretty good value I reckon (plus you Tamora boys will get the opportunity to discover what 'handling' is all about).
