New car

Hi lads and lasses

this is my first time posting and i want some general info if there is any out there to provide?...

I have just sold my Porsche and am now up for a new motor but i really want somthing with guts.

I was thinking of a Tuscan S what is the general thought amongst you people????

Depends how much you want to spend. If you want a convertable, I'd go for a Tamora Red Rose. If you prefer a coupe then the Sagaris! But its ALWAYS just a matter of opinion.

Pop into your local dealer and drive them all, then make a decision.

Personally, and having never driven one, the Tuscan S is the most perfect car ever, and I want one. In cascade or reflex charcoal.

really didnt want to go too much over the high 30's this time as probably the biggest waste of money available, cars that is, but there you cant take it with you...

The 911 i had was a cab 996 2 wheel drive would these give that a run for its money??

i really dont know a lot about tvr's and just want a muscle two seater. The one i thought of was the tuscan s but what do you think of that?

Hi coldstreamer...welcome to the forum.

I was about to suggest you pop to your local TVRcc club Meet and then noticed that you are in Essex.

That's our patch.....
The Meets are on the 2nd Sunday of each month so the next will be 14th August.
I'm the RO and will introduce you some Members and you can see the TVRs and get the feel for the different models as well as hearing of any eccentricities they may have.

You don't have to worry about joining...pop along and see if it's up your street..I always have plenty of Membership forms with me...

A friend of mine has a 996 like yours. We did a swap for the sake of experiencing each other's toys. When I got back into my Tuscan, the lack of substance felt a little alarming, especially since I'd lived with it for over 12 months. For some time, I felt quite vulnerable because of the lack of safety features etc. That germanic suit of armour does a lot for one's confidence. I suggest you arrange some lengthy test drives and get a feel for the difference. My local dealer was happy, and probably still would be, to lend me a car for a proper test drive over a couple of days.

I think the safety thing is just psychological like
when you wash your car and it seems to run better
What I meen is when I went to Douglass Valley breakers
to get a replacement door module they had one Tuscan
in and over 200 destroyed Porsches.I know that there
is a lot more Porsches sold than Tivs but the point
I am trying somewhat long windedly to make is that
no matter how many safety features are fitted to a car
the laws of physics will still apply.

At least a Tiv teaches you to respect what you're driving and not to drive beyond you're ability. Treat it carefully, then push it a bit at a time learning as you go and there is no other car available that will reward so completely.

I have to say that after living with my 996 for two years you can just about use all of the power available no matter what your level of driving, but that ends up being boring hence the reason to sell it.

What are the TVR's like to live with? the good thing about the porsche was that in two years apart from fuel there was hardly any running expense and out of a 170 mph car thats not bad!

Every one says to me dont get one as they will break down, whats your experience of this? I am talking about quit a modern car here aswell?
