Its been about 2.5 yrs since my Chimaera had a front end respray (previous owner had it done) and I was thinking about having it done again.

Whats the going rate to have this done? The colour is Mica Blue so its not a fancy paint job like reflex/chameleon, etc.

Also, I live in Cambridgeshire so who would people recommend? I use Offord for mechanical work, I believe they do bodywork as well, anyone got any experience of their work/cost, etc?

Bishop Stortford, Hilton Coachworks - TVR Centre Crash repair centre (and Castle's sister company)

Not too far from Cambs.

I can second EdT's recommendation of Ewelme.

Had a look at my Chim between it coming back from there and going for rejuvination in Coventry and the quality of their work was exceptionally good.

Reflex/chameleon is easier and simpler than mica.

Thanks for the replies so far, but no one has mentioned how much its likely to cost.

Any ideas?

Mine, including some parts and some GRP work came in at about £1300 as I remember. Thats a Starmist finish.

My griff has just been done at Cirecester, £750 if iremember correctly, insurance job! Unfortunately the very same night i picked it up somebody very nicely cut a 6 inch mark in the new paint. Going back again next week, not insurance this time.

Assuming no damage other than stone chips you shouldn't pay more than £450-550 for a bit of prep and a blow over. Body shops see a TVR roll in and they smell cash. Get some recommendations and shop around.

The family that had my chim in the garage before I took it over appear to have used the rear bumper (??) and boot lip as a bike stand. I'm planning to have the rear resprayed next month along with a full waxoyl for the chassis. I'm budgeting £600 for the lot.
