Plato did wax lyrical about how much fun the Tamora was. The Tiv also got far more footage of being driven, well sideways. The Porsche footage was a bit dull in comparison.
He plumped for the Porsche with really no clue as to why from the in car footage. Ah well.
Mind you, with £38k to spend on a new car my heart would say Tamora but my head would say Boxster S. And if it had to be my only car, sorry, but right now I'd probably go for the S too :ducksandrunsforcover:
BTW: Drivel did a show with and Audi S4, a Subaru 22B and something esle that I forget a few years ago. The Scooby had fully adjustable suspension and the producer asked that it was set up for max oversteer for some dramatic slalom ad cornering shots.
In the afternoon they did the timed handling runs. Ah, said the Scooby owner and friend, we need to re set the suspension to the correct settings. Err no, said producer, leave it as it is.
Result: Audi won the handling test.
Call me a cynic, but I couldn't help smelling a small rodent when the programme was broadcast and the opening credits went....'Drivel is sponsored by Audi...'
As a further aside, said 22B was returned to owner with a knackered clutch (the clutch fluid had been boiled) and the side of the car had more gravel rash than a pebbledashed Tiv. After some considerable wrangling the production company paid for a new clutch and a respray.

Pretty dumbed down show. Haven't seen it before tonight. Don't intent to watch it again on this showing. Bunch of dog pooh! Tamora looked dynamic. Porker looked dull, boring and likely to sell many more than the TVR!
They didn't show the Porkers with the roasted clutches but I'm sure Porker's PR dept were able to take that in their stride. Media manipulation of the masses wins again.

Not surprised that they didn't mention the cooked clutch's of the Boxsters. I wonder if they would have kept their Gobs shut if it had been the other way around, makes me so angry 
And who was the guy who they interviewed next to the Tamora who was an existing TVR owner, and he then when on to slag the Tamora off

A 924 with 0-60 in about 10 secs is probably not a lot quicker than a 1.6 Focus.
A 924 would probably make a very nice ultra cheap sports car - compared to an MGB or such like. The one on the program looked to be in quite good condition actually. What insurance group is it though? probably 20 just because it has the 'P' word on the badge

The 'prize' Porsche actually sounded like a 'bag of nails', so not too much of a prize there.
And don't worry about Nikki, the girl who won it. She had only passed her test three days previously but that young lady has her head screwed on, believe me. She'll be okay!!
As far as Jason goes, his vote went to the Porsche really reluctantly almost as if it was being wrung from him, you could see it was tongue in cheek and he looked pretty uncomfortable at the howls of derision from us TVR peoples when he gave his vote.

What a load of c##p! Possibly one of the worst motoring programmes I have ever seen,and to top it all the idiots guide to buying old bangers and driving them like a complete to##er. I,ll bet a few joy riders were inspired.The conclusions TVR v Porsche were made before the day started for Drivel!.Next time i,m going to let my Daughter watch the cartoons!!
