Go on. What is the dumbest thing you've done with a TVR? That's either driving it or inside it! But be clean folks, this is a family site.

Mine, for starters, was in a Chim. I drove around most of last summer waiting for the 42,000 mile service to come around. On my fix list was that the underbody insulation was failing, allowing the exhaust to cook me and my medium-rare passengers.
David Gerald of Inkberrow rang with some amusement to advise me that I had heated seats!
The switch is hidden under the dash on the drivers side. I had had the car for 2 years! Must have hit it with my knee.

I was late due to an alternator failure in my 4.5 earlier in the day in the UK and had hours to catch up in Europe en route to an appointment. I actually took a whole hour from my best ever time doing the same journey the previous year. And the previous time was considered "f mental" by my hosts. Never before or since have I driven so fast for so long.

The "dumbest" incident involved the wrong side of a 200m traffic island, overtaking about 20 Caterfields (that weren't hanging about either) ....and what "the dials" were showing at the time.

The memories burnt into my mind are the moment I realised I was committed to the manoevre and the looks of astonishment on the faces of the Caterfield occupants as I passed.

Dumbest/maddest/biggest rush - it was all of those things. But, we need to be careful of what we say on forums, right?

I was at a set of lights with a tw@t behind me reving the nuts off his motor. I waited for the amber glow of the adjacent lane as it turned to red, dumped the clutch and made the jump to lightspeed before my light went green.

Whilst looking back into hyperspace through the rear view mirror, I noticed him still waiting at the lights. It was then that my girlfriend pointed out that another lane went green whilst mine was still red

Guess I showed him who was boss though

Did something like that with my Lambo ... charged battery ... still no start ... stared dumbly at engine for a while ... bit the bullet and lost all knuckles removing plugs and checking for spark ... gave in and called mechanic ... who diagnosed empty fuel tank ...

Afraid to say very little.

BossC ...er...you been a little bit of a nutter in your youth?

Only done a cpl of inappropriate over taking moves.

Ive drifted the mx across both lanes of the A26/A17 Q8 oils roundabout between Lewes and Brighton. Came round it at speed, absolutely perfect if unintentional drift on the exit. Very fortunate nobody in the outside lane.

Er, A24, trying to follow a Caterham at about 7am down to the Revival Meet at Goodwood. Roundabout, he took it more or less flat, I was following in the mx. Took the inside route, a pukka AC Ace at about £75k on the outside. The mx was fishtailing about 100yrds on the exit as I fought to keep it udner control. A quick lesson in how ing fast a Caterham is round anything bendy!

Er, thats about it for me.

A full bore launch from traffic lights resulting in clouds of white smoke and an impromtu & most undignified exit from the road and onto the rugby field in a kind of.... backwards sort of way. Much to my passengers delight. The ref didn't look best pleased mind.

Early days of ownership, pulling out from a T-junction onto the main road, wet surface, back end of the car fishtailed about 6 times while I fought to get control back (gave up and used the clutch!).

All to the astonishment of a bus shelter full of pedestrians, who were shaking their heads with disapproval.

Rammed my Cerb into a railway bridge at 60mph knocking it partially down, writing off the car and giving myself concussion and whip lash...
Not the dumbest part though... that was buying another one!
