Chim hard top

Looking through some earlier Sprint mags I noticed the Chims that race in the 12hr Sepang endurance race are fitted with hard-tops. Are these just for racing and if so why has the factory never offered this option. Any info greatly appreciated.

the hardtop was built by TVR malaysia, give them a shout they are on the web somewhere... i did ask about them when i was over there and at the time they said they were only really for racing as the rear window was just a bit of bent perspex, but these days they might sell them
