Cerbera replacement ??

Was at my Local Dealer Tuesday getting a replacement refurbished wheel, as usual I got talking about upgrading to a Sagaris next year as the Typhoon is still not avalible.
Anyway it was mentioned that there is a definate rumour of a V8 engined Cerbera replacement on the drawing board.

Anyone else heard this, apparently there was another dealer meeting Wednesday so heres hoping for some good news.

Must ring dealer Monday and get an updated.

I have heard from a good source that they are looking at putting an american V8 in for reliablity and that this will open up the american market too.

I have heard that TVR is going to become a chocolate factory, and their first series will be the TVR Espeedo Sixa and the TVR Espeedo Ita - the first being scandinavian toffee with a scottish butter-scotch filling and the latter being an indian curry flavoured cream whipped hungarian tripple chocolate base iced over with Tuscany and a hint of cerburian moonlight dust creating a cascade of flavours in a pearlescent package.

I had some strange engine enquiries about this a while back and think there is genuine interest in an lsx powerplant. There was also some factory interest in a couple of converted cars in OZ and photo'e were taken, allegedly. Might be just gossip but I suspect not.

That would be a welcome end to the (engine) insanity of the last decade. Let's have a decent reliable engine with a proper V8 sound track and none of this unreliable 'bucket of bolts' nonesense, IMO this is a move that could dramatically improve TVR's prospects.

As a prospective TVR owner an engine that offered both power and reliability would probably make me go out and put a deposit down straight away.

My dad and I are going halves a pointless and impractical sports car and we would probably have bought a TVR by now if we weren't so worried about reliability. Thats not to say we won't buy one, we'll probably just go for a late model chim or griff rather than one of the "home made" engines.

We are both fairly technical (i've run far more unrelaible printing machines than any TVR!) but we would still rather spend our weekends driving the thing as opposed to fixing it.

I should qualify this by saying that I love TVR and all that the company stands for but reliability is the final nut they have to crack before Top Gear et al will take them seriously.

Whilst i would absolutely LOVE the prospect of a new 2+2 TVR with a V8, surely any thought of 'holding off until...' would be a mistake.

I have no idea how long the TVR development life cycle is (perhaps someone here can advise better), but I would suspect at least a 3 year wait before such a machine was in production.

As well as having a proper V8, and sound track to go with it, it would be nice to have a cerbera which resembled similar lines, and a sleeker arse end.
