V8S or Griff (or Chim).....or metro.....or walk..

Im trying to find a way into TVR ownwership....
I really (REALLY) want a V8 (sorry for keeping on about the same things - im just stuck mulling nthings over endlessly!!)
My budget was 15K (car plus change as a safety fund)
and £100 per month in a jar for 'problems'...
It may have to drop to £10k and £100 in a jar...
I was heading towards a Griff - but I really like the V8S...
What would people suggest I do ??? (please don't make me get a metro!!'

both Fanatastic Cars, I have a Griffith which is an absolute hoot, but wouldnt say no to a V8S either.
£10k you may struggle to get either in pretty good condition, 15k you can get a concours V8S and a pretty sound Griffith up to 96-97 IMHO. both should be around teh same cost to keep on the road re- maintainance although the 500 griffiths are gonna drink more oil/petrol and possibly tyres/brakes depending how you drive
Best thing I would suggest get to a meet and look over and chat to some owners and maybe get a run out in a few and see how they feel to you.
And dont forget the Chimeara, more about so you can pick up a pretty good one in your price range and although uglyier than the Griffith

Have to agree at least in part with the sentiments. The Chimaera didn't win a design award, did it?
Also, as I added on a previous thread of yours, get along to the Growl just outside Stratford on Avon next weekend. There will be two TVR dealers there, one Full Factory, one independant, plus loads of folks to chat to. I'm sure you'll be able to blag a ride as well, if you ask nicely.

I have a V8S and a 1.5D metro, it's a good combination of supercar and eco wagon. The metro sees me through teh winter and traffic congestion and the V8S does the rest.

Its down to personal preference really I love the Griffs shape, but the V8S is more seat of the pants fun and more smiles per gallon/price??
I have a V8S and bought an S as a stop gap until I bought a Griff, I love it so much I have decided not to bother and will stick with the V8S? Mine is a second car though and if it was my only car I might have bought a grif just get out and drive as many as possible and see what feels right.

Neither would the Griff if it hadn't been enetered in the 'fat-arsed wheelbarrow wot looks like an invalid carrier' section of the competition...

I Have owned a V8S for three years now and its been brill but unfortunately for sale at moment due to having two boys under two in the house i can't justify it at the present. But i will come back to tiv ownership and i think a V8s will definetely be high on the list. Looks and sounds fantastic hours of fun its in the classifieds all original condition brg.
If you want a V8 TVR, then either would be a fine choice. I was once faced with exactly the same dillema, but eventually went for the V8S. If your budget is fixed at £10k I reckon you should get a fairly decent V8S for that. A Griff for the same money is not likely to be in the such good condition.
My 'all to short' ownership is over now, but I wouldn't hesitate to get another. I sold mine almost a year ago now for not much more than your budget and it was a good example. I still miss that noise!
As suggested by others, try out as many as you can... they're all different.
