Hi

I have an M3 at the minute but looking to change for a tamora or a noble. Ive heard that TVR reliability is not great and sounds like youve had a bad experience. How is it you can have a bad experience but still have the faith/desire to go back for potentially more? Did you consider noble or a BM, or was it TVR all the way, despite the previous grief??

I've heard of many problems with some early Tuscans, whilst others seem to be OK. Often this is due to the Speed 6 engine. However, if you like the car/breed enough, you stick with it and either get them fixed or try another Tuscan. Remember that TVR are well-known for launching cars before they are fully de-bugged - this task often falls to the owners of the first years' batch! If you accept that before you buy, there are fewer surprises. Or buy a car that's 1-2 years old and been through it.

A word on TVR reliability - when Channel 4 reviewed two Tamoras and two Boxsters recently, guess which ones died? Place your bets now...

... yes, both Boxters broke down. Both Tamoras were fine. Lost your bet?!!

I've a mate with a Noble M12.
several of us went to italy...Imola, inc two griffs

the Noble was new...broke down before he left...alarm
down at Nurburg...wiper (it was pissing down)
down at bruntingthorpe...misfire, plugs etc
NO luggage space...placky bags aroung the cockpit!

both griffs made it home...mine with a new coil... cracked during servicing.

don't get me wrong, i'd love a Noble! Talk about a head turner, the Italians LOVED it...but
they're VERY small volume specialist motors...even smaller than TVR! only 100 to date.
also the rolling chassis is made in S.Africa and only finished (motored up) in uk.

FRYING PAN / FIRE springs to mind.

PS you wouldn't regret buying either I'd bet!
