tvr servicing lincoln area

Does anyone have a reccomendation for tvr servicing in the lincoln area?
the nearest i have found so far is TMS.

Welcome to PH, there are a number of us in Lincoln or close by, 3 x S3s, 2 x Tuscans, 3-4 Chims, 2 x 350T + a Sagaris. I can't speak for the Chims or the exotica hopefully R_Toy (Tuscan) will be along to give advice or one of the Chims. Us beards and rocking chairs (S series) Do it Ourselves.

Hi Justy .,Servicing does depend on which model you have. As yellabelly said most of the older models(cars i mean) dont require the expense of TVR dealer servicing. I had my chim serviced at a local garage for over 5 years and they did a good job at a reasonable rate. Can give you name if of interest.Now i've swapped for a tuscan i will use Harrogate horsless carriages or TMS. TMS being the closest but check out the prices!! May be worth a day out in Yorks.

Thanks guys, I have a 97 Chimaera. Only had it a month and want to give it a thorough 1st service. I've been quoted 500 - 600 quid from TMS (depending on service), but will now give Harrogare Horseless Carrages a call. Am also looking at TVR Club membership so may see you at a meet.

There's a bit of an empty patch service-wise east of TMS isn't there?

I'm in Nottingham and I'm giving RT Racing in Sheffield a try on Monday for Chassis treatment and a 12k service.

500-600 seems a v high price for a v8, just bare in mind this is a rover engine.Brakes,hubs and axle are cossworth ford. all parts are available at your local retailer. The price of filters, plugs,new fan belt,oil, even chuck in new brake pads all round you would still only spend 100.
Any other work outside basic service will of course cost extra..TMS charge 90/hr (gulp)

My chim cost me 175 for major service,All the usuall inc diff, gearbox and syn engine oil change & new front pad fittment(i bought pads tho)
The lack of tvr service history will affect resale value but to a much lesser extent as cars get older.
At the end of the day its personal preff but that seems a bit too greedy to me ..Good luck and what ever you do ENJOY Dave.

Just had my Chim serviced by Paul Glynn at Prestige Performance in Melton (ex TMS). Excellent service by the guys there and they are always willing to chat and offer help and advice.

I met Paul today, what a nice guy and has a very good set-up.
For those further east, Scole engineering near Diss also seem to know what there doing.
