Where's the Sagaris........
Discussion
Lets face it, some people simply don't understand TVR. They don't take them seriously.
This goes for some of the press / journalists.
TVR are a bit like Man United if you ask me. They have a great following of loyal fans but the rest think they're rubbish and won't give them the time of day.
Will this always be the way?
It annoys me.

Interesting and sort of see what you mean. Not sure I'd have held Man Utd as an example - I mean they have more "supporters" who know next to nothing about the Club and its history than almost any other in the country, whereas TVR followers tend to be far more knowledgable about all things TVR.
All imho. And anyway, so what if Autocar doesn't rate the Sag, just another way of maintaining that exclusivity and big grin factor!

....in Autocars best drivers car 2005?
There were even two 350Z's but no Sag! From what I've read the Sagaris is a great drivers car, so either that's not the case or TVR did not dare lend a press car to Autocar again against a Noble (ducks to avoid low flying missiles)
D'you know, I thought exactly the same thing yesterday when I was looking at what car mags Ray would want..
20 odd cars on the front cover and no Sagaris.
Considering that every report reckons it's a great car on track, I was amazed it wasn't there.
I even opened it and glanced through the article to see if it was there but just not pictured.
That was one mag that stayed on the shelf....in fact I didn't buy any car mags this week.
Don't see why you should have to duck after your comment on Noble.
Most reports put the Noble as faster on the track don't they?
However, having done the trip from Swansea to Essex in a Noble, when you're on the journey home I would take the comfort of the Sagaris (and it is comfortable)over the basic non existent comforts of the Noble any day.
Bearing in mind the Sagaris is built as a 'road and track' car it's worth the loss of a second or two in my book

I get the strange feeling that you are taking the pee!!
So...I love my TVR...there's nothing wrong with that.
I have never been on track in a Noble, so I wouldn't be able to say.
My point was that even if it does, for the comfort that the Sag gives as opposed to the Nob I would gladly allow the Nob an extra couple of seconds......
If I wanted ultimate cornering ability I would have gone for a Radical........

Nitrons, some corner weighting, some advanced wizardy from the likes of Joolz, and I'd be shitting myself if I were the Noble owner.
But then the M400 owner would suggest a few tweaks as well & the pendulum swings. Shouldn't a comparison be straight out of the box ? I haven't driven either so am not qualified to make any judgement.
I've driven both. The Noble is much easier to drive at daft speeds but here's the rub:
Do a quick lap in a Noble and people shrug and credit the car "well, you would do wouldn't you? It's a track car".
Do a quick lap in a Sagaris (or any TVR for that matter) and people want to shake your hand.
Ergo the TVR demands from and rewards the driver. The acceleration comparisions (M400 vs Sagaris has little in it on the clock) are interesting - the M400 does 0-100 in three violent pertooshes whereas the Sagaris, after a short-shift to 2nd with the CR box does it one big wallop like being smacked up the arse by a train. The violence of the M400 'feels' quick, and there's no denying that onboost the g-force is higher than the Sagaris. But compare 30-70 times of the M400 vs Sagaris and the latter is the quicker car.
TVRs make the driver the hero. It's just a different school of thought to the 'let's make it easy' school of engineering. I know which I prefer - and it's kept me loyal for 10 years so far. Hacks don't spend enough time with the cars to 'geddit' so benchmark the TVR down against 'easier' cars.
Yep, the Sagaris is a glaring omission in DCotY. On that little Rockingham Circuit, the Sagaris' would excel.

How is she? be honest... what do you miss about the cerb the most?
Please may I answer that from Cerb to Sagaris
I miss two things
The V8 sound although the Speed 6 sounds like a GT car at around 60/70
and, I've said it in the past, as a passenger the 'dearlifer' bit on the Cerb.
The bit that runs down the side of the gearbox from the dash ( I don't think it has a real name) onto which I used to cling for Dear Life as Ray took roundabouts at ...well lets just say late at night when no-one was about
There's just nothing to hold onto in the Sagaris

If I'm honest... absolutely nothing! I feared I would miss the Cerb and it took me months to pluck up the courage to get rid but the M400 is awesome.
And Phil - fair comment mate and I know where you are coming from and agree with some of your points but maybe you don't 'get' the Noble?!
When are you and the boss next out on track? I'd like to be on the pit wall when that thing roars past!
Cheers all

....maybe you're right!
I wondered why you weren't at the Monster meet with your Cerbera!
I'm doing the Tunnel Run tomorrow night. No other track days booked at the moment.
