TVR fails to buy Benelli

Spotted in the Motorcycle news :

TVR have failed in their bid to buy loss making Benelli motorcycles of Italy.

A Chinese motorcycle manufactureur has bought it..

Apparently.

So - does this mean that TVR will again be offering factory servicing...

It might be old news about the servicing but I didnt realise the deal had fallen through for NS buying Benelli.

Last thing I saw it looked like the deal had been done & handshakes all round.

One day we might get to read something about TVR that is actually based on fact!

Benelli went to the Chinese because the workforce objected to plans to move production to Blackpool. Trade unions are powerful things in Italy and they could influence the sale as a result.

Factory servicing is gone because TVR want to be a manufacturer not a dealership. Staff assigned to servicing are being trained to train dealership staff with a view to creating a more rigourous training plan and acreditation for those working on TVRs in the approved dealer network.
