TVR + Ferrari meet up?

Hi all,
I was one of the guys who organised the Poseur Run last sunday. Originally it was going to be for all cars, but due to a number of reasons waschanged to a Ferrari only run.
Would you guys be interested in a TVR v Ferrari meet up end of November/Early January?
It would either be a TVR v Ferrai only or an Italy v UK run with lotus, noble, Maserati etc.
The idea would be as follows:
We select a few squares/locations eg: sloane square, trafalgar sqaure, Barclay square, soho square and parlaiment square.
Drivers start meet up at a location in central London and are given a list of the above squares. Then have to visit each square in sequence and once they reach it, have to do go round it 3 times and then back to Hyde Park Corner for two laps then to next square and go round 2 times, then back to Hyde Park Corner for two laps etc ....... until all squares are done.
That way, anyone who comes late can always go to hyde park corner and wait for others to come back. Depending on the number of marques and people that come, we could have two or three different lists each with the squares in a different order. We could divide everyone into marques or mix everybody up.
We've got about 14 to 20 Ferrari's interested in coming along?
What do you guys and gals think?

There is a run currently being organised for the 5th/6th November (date still under discussion). Meet up at 5am in London & blast through all the tunnels making as much noise as possible, followed by breakfast at the ACE cafe on the North Circular... Less traffic to ruin our fun or make the carsd awkward to drive !

Sad but true - I arrange several events for the TVRCC & PH every month but despite living in London I make sure we travel outside the M25 to get the most from our cars.
Speed cameras, road works, traffic lights & congestion (whatever time of day or night) dont make for a great day out - but to be fair your idea would work better than most because everyone doesnt have to stick together.
Sounds like fun - but if you decide to take it to the suberbs I reckon you would get much more interest.

So as not to piss people off (again) I say we invite the Lotus & Nobles along. Besides, my best mate has an elise and he'll kill me if I don't invite him.

in light of the other thread that has just been closed, ferrara chat, swap t350, for 348. and the vitriol, is this such a good idea?

ie Versus anybody, surely it's sportscar owners vs everyone who just doesn't care about cars, and the government, etc,etc. why buils up rivalry bewtween essential people with a mutual interest.
some people need to lighten up, there will always be a very few idiots that look down on other makes of car, even some TVR owners seem to do it.
But most people are just enthusiasts ansd would like a TVR, a porsche, an aston, a susbaru, a ferrari, a alambo, etc. If they could afford it
come on, why compare a 2005 tvr, with a 1980's ferrari... the TVR will be 'better' ie faster. As will a 2005 ferrari be 'better'.. I note noone has mentioned mondials
AS an example, --- imho a 1992 griff was the better car than the then porsche turbo, and ferrair tesstarossa... Better performance, better shape, and better interior (started a trend there). AT THE TIME, and compared to those peers, inho is still better, especially if you include value for performance and money, the porsche has dated badly, testarossa still looks good, but way expensive to run.
a used 'GOOD' 355 is undoubtbly better than a 'GOOD' griff, but if you take value for money into account I'd say breaks even. taking into account, design, performance, handling, fun, costs, size, etc,etc,etc
Now arguablly there are BETTER TVR's and other Better porsches, ferraris, etc, etc. but the griff will remain a desirable classic, in design terms it has lasted well, plus the odd award, lots of design cues, interior particularly pinched.
NOW Price differentials have got worse for TVR, vs performance ie now half the price, of a ferrari, vs a third
ie loved 308's then and now, BUT they are slow now, realtive to even some hottest hatches now, still prefer the 308 over the hot hatch as something memorable, if not the servicing bills, even if dynamically it's been overtaken.
328's a better 308? 348's a worse 328? All manufacturers have their ups and downs.
ie what i'm trying to say, to make fair comparisons, is in it's time was it the best..
Arguably the 328 is memorable, as the 355... 348, 360 not as memorable as the previous incarnation, (but probably 'technically better'), now 430 will be more memorable than the 360, and of cause 'BETTER' than a 355, 328, but in my mind are equally desirable, as a classic car of each era.

bjwoods, I think you've taken the term Versus a bit out of context, granted versus or 'V', may have been the wrong choice of word by angelis, but I personally didn't take it to mean anything other than a coming together of exotica from UK and Italy.
