Fully Comp Insurance (Unlimited Mileage) HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone recommend the best insurance company to use for the above??

At the moment I am being ripped off on a classic car policy (with limited mileage) as they were the only ones (of many) that I tried who would also insure my other half to drive?? (She does not have as much experience of driving 'performance vehicles' and has never owned/insured one)Can anyone recommend the best insurance company to use for the above as we are wanting to use the Chim almost every day, so limited mileage is not a lot of help!!

I am 36 with full no claims bonus, the car is kept on a private driveway at home, and if at my office is parked in a secure private car park. We live near Harrow, Middx.
Just wondering what the hell I have to do to get a sensible quotation, as I have never had an accident/claim in my life! (surely one day this will have some bearing on things?
Have not had so much of a problem in the past, but now I have the "co-driver" to consider!!
Any advice greatfully received!

The only 2 I could get sensible quotes from that would also insure my other half (same reasons as you) were MSM (01279 870535) £798 on a 10 ltd mileage policy
Or
A-Plan (01635 874646) £879 Unlimited mileage.
I'm 30, 3 yrs NCB, SP30 with the car garaged.

Neither of these would include trackday cover though.

Aone did a good policy - Unlimited Mileage with Wifey, was around £750 quid, i did have problems with them though - policy itself was good though, Mannings will only insure my car for theft between the hours of 10pm and 6am from our alarmed garage !!

I'm with Privilege with 10,000 miles, no previous performance car experience (first year of TVR ownership), wife as named driver also with no previous performance car experience for £350. All the so-called specialists wanted silly money for anything over 3000 miles or told me to go away and play for year. That is on an S3

Am with Privilege too, two years in a row their quotes have been well below the others especially the 'specialist TVR insurers', oft seen in Sprint, it was the same when I had the MGs, the 'official' MG insurers were always higher than the mainstean companies!

Come live over in NZ,petrol at a all time high at 60p a ltr,insurance,2 unlucky smacks and loss of licence for speeding ,400 quid unlimited at 36,was the same when I was 26 with clean licence with a new Griff.

Try First Alternative. Best quote for me when I insured my Elise 111R. I'm 34, 6yrs NCD, clean licence and car garaged in Cambs area - £500.

Depends if you want trackday cover as well. The best deal I came up with for self and partner was, believe it or not Direct Line. They were unconcerned by lack of experience with RWD and even protected my NCB. They were between £200 and £500 cheaper than any of the recommended "specialists" but obviously do not give track day cover

Try www.swiftinsure.co.uk - good if u have modifications such as differant wheels etc as you can declare these on the website with out having to talk to a muppet.
Also its completely online - they don't even send you a certificate, you have to print it off from their secure website - how weird did i feel in the Post Office taxing the car thinking 'their never going to accept this' - but they did

I've just had a quote from Chris Knott (01580 752961) of £695 with 10k ltd mileage, but no trackdays and just myself to drive. Still the cheapest by a fair way though!

I just renewed the tax on-line - BRILLIANT - took 5 minutes and no MOT or insurance certificate needed at all, the computer just checks its own database for details & current insurance/MOT. No more queuing behind old ladies who want one stamp and a chat!

The only catches that I can see are 1) it only accepts Debit cards, not credit cards and 2) if your MOT/insurance has expired then they might just rustle up an on-line summons for you!?
