Parts Supply Issues

As alluded to by many owners recently there have been problems obtaining certain parts of late.
I've spoken to TVR about the issue and they are working on it. It is not being ignored but they simply aren't in a position to elaborate. There are a number of factors affecting the supply of parts which are having to be addressed (some of which are being experienced by other manufacturers too).
TVR do read the forums and know that it's an issue for us, and that it's undesirable to have us waiting for bits, but some of the issues can't be resolved without some pain. It isn't of course a cash flow problem as demonstrated by their investment in a new factory and the investment in the company generally.
I too have been affected by the supply issues when getting the Cerbera fixed. It is annoying to have cars off the road but at least the work they're doing now should result in a smoother supply chain in future rather than the sporadic one we've had in the past.

Would be good to have something a little more specific though eg target dates to resolve, what parts etc....
Having spoken to AP (clutches) I see no obvious reason why TVR cant just instruct AP to supply more and to the distribute to dealers etc asap... Doesnt seem to difficult to address some of the 'low hanging fruit'.

It is winter, and thus every minute does not count as much as it would have a couple of months ago.
It's good to have PistonH to put one's foot down on in the meantime..
Please do let us know specifically if you learn new stuff about the clutch situation.

Nice to know that they are at least aware of the problem.
Not quite sure why it's a problem in the first place - as you said, money is not the issue (unless they have specific - and different budgets to adhere to - ie. development / production / spares / etc.)
It seems to me they wait until they have enough orders to meet a minimum quantity on a part before they purchase them, and if that takes weeks (or months
), then so be it.
For them to hold a stock of 'fast moving' items wouldn't kill them would it???
Even better - let a dealer order direct from the supplier instead of having to go through TVR.
I can accept genuine reasons for delay such as the proposed re-design of the AP clutch assy......but 4 weeks for a sensor, 4 weeks (and counting....) for an alloy wheel and 10 weeks for a chassis....COME ON!!!
...I was hoping to be back on the road for the Autumn, but at this rate, I'll be lucky if it's this side of bleedin' Christmas....sorry, Winterval...

It is in one sense, but really this news ought to be relayed primarily through the TVRCC. Any thoughts on why the relationship between TVR and the TVRCC isn't as it ought to be ?.

I think that's the way they used to work and now they're trying to restructure things. That's why there's a delay - it's the process of re-evaluating their internal systems and processes.

I have not posted here before and so I appologise now if I am doing something wrong, and if I am I will not do it again. But I might be able to help someone.
I have an 800- that's Hundred, mile old complete clutch unit for a Tuscan speed six for sale, and other parts. All at 800 miles.
I will not say any more incase I am breaking the rules.
Please let me know here. Before I put contact details etc.
I will be in the USofA for the next 8 days. Then I will be back in the UK.
If this is allowed I will submit a detailed listing of the parts.
