Tuscan Conv / General TVR in The Independent

TheIndependent yesterday carried a "review" of the Tuscan convertible, with a bit of general wordage on TVR as it is today.

Yes....... although I have to say I have never had a plasticy smell in our Cerb or Sagaris...it's only ever been leathery.

I note that no one ever comments on the smell inside French cars which after a while get to resemble mini cabs - somewhat stale sweaty farty... You get the picture?
Call me insensitive but the smells inside TVRs are leather, petrol, waxoyl and occasionally rotting/damp carpet, but glue/cat's P? WTF are they talking about?

Anyway, nice review. T2C on my wish list...please Santa!

My '98 Cerbera STILL smells of leather - it's often the first remark passengers make. It briefly smelt a bit of petrol (this week) because the high pressure fuel pipe had split. Apart from that, never. I don't use Waxoyl so dunno - but that's an owner's optional aroma, not a press car's. As for damp carpet, mine are garaged. If the carpets were wet I'd take them out and dry them. It makes me want to thump the TV every time those fools on Top Gear cough up their tired old cliches.

So: full marks to Euan Sey at the Independent. TVRs smell of leather.

Credit where credit's due, and I agree that a full hide car smells much better than TG would have you believe. Give them a good pasting over a distance though and you get an odd smell which resembles rotten apples... mixed with leather

Refreshing to see the media give TVR the good press they deserve. So much work has gone into improving build quality that it deserves recognition.

All I'm waiting for now is for some wassock to turn this into yet another 'ah yes but, no but, it might smell nice, but what about the reliability of the S6?' forums... you wait and see
