Vantage sounds better than any TVR !!

My mate just called round in his new Aston Martin Vantage and took us out for a run. The sound it makes is fantastic, better than my sports exhausted T350 and even my old 450 SEAC. It's the quality of the noise that shocked me, it pops and bangs on the overun but under load it really does sound better than any car I have ever been in.

Needless to say it is beautiful to look at and was very easy to drive but besides the sound I was very impressed with the fit and finish the interior is out of this world. He had a Porsche 997S before it but the Aston is in another league, the Porsche by all accounts drives better and might be a fraction quicker but the noise alone makes the Aston a far better drive IMO.

I too saw my first V8 Vantage this week and you have to say, it exudes prescence.

Coming up a hill, the frontal aspect was truly mouth watering.

The sound, as you report - epic.

Looking at the pic, I assumed the Vantage would be fair bit bigger than the T350, which is quite a compact coupe, it looks a similar size though. Beautiful motor though already added to the wish list .
Can I hazard a guess at the new owner by the plate .

I actualy saw one last week. I thought it was DB9 because I didn't knew they were already being delivered. Today it passed by me again...

My mate has had his delivery confirmed for April,so insted of his boxter,Martin will be taking his Aston to LeMans next year,my 5.5 Griff and jellisons pink monster will be waiting!

A mate of mine called round in his new aston the other day, had already had those valvey things in the exhaust made to stay open so it's VERY loud. Did sound rather tasty.

Sorry, disagree. Cerbera, for gut-wrenching performance, unmistakable sound track, and far more elegantly sculptured. Borne out by my girls long term admiration for the Astons - but her choice is still the Cerbera.

For different reasons, I wouldn't change my 'Gris for anything - but the Aston simply does not come into that class of vehicle.

I test drove the Vantage a couple of weeks ago, and it was VERY nice. Yep, those valves sounded good, and the interior was very luxurious, and yes it has the most beautiful arse in the whole world (excluding those attached to nice legs).

But I then popped into a TVR showroom, and without even test driving, I found my self far more excited over the Tuscan convertible.... go figure?

I think the Vantage is the car I want when I grow up - just not sure when that's going to happen!

Ive only got one problem with the Vantage..it hasnt got twin screws and somewhere north of 550 horses.
Oh it doesnt look like it will rape you, your wife, your daughter and your son and you will be honoured to have let it done so.

But apart from that, aye its OK.
