Hello all,

Can anyone recommend a set of tyres for my Cerb. I am currently running the std S02's but they are a bit crap to say it mildly.
I usually run on Toyo Proxy's and have had no problems with them but that was only on my 350Bhp Evo, now I have 430+Bhp to play with.
Any suggestions or info would be great,

Im running Goodyear F1,s all round at moment, seem to grip a little better than my previous Toyo,s. Falkern seem to be a good
buy and a lot cheaper

I had some F1's on my old MR2 Turbo and they didn’t last long but yeh they are good. I want something that would be good on a track even though I will not be going on one, I just want maximum grip, as we all do.

I recommend Toyo's at £180 each, not cheap but they have excellent grip in the dry and wet. You can pay less or more on tyres, is does seem to be personal choice.

Yeh i agree, Toyos it is then, might go for the 888 proxys but not to sure what they will be like in the wet, not good probably, unless they are really soft. hmmmm.

Eagle F1's for me, great in the dry, phenomenal in the wet.

I just put two Falken F451's on the back of mine at £96 each (245/45/16). They are so much better than the SO3's they replaced.

The new Bhp is on my cerb the old on my Evo 8.

So as he said, how did you manage to get an extra 70bhp over a normal 4.5 cerbera? Unless you actually believe the TVR figures?

I think the comment may have been in reference to the factory 'BDP' figure, either that or you car has had serious engine mods and is arguably the most powerful in the country. Either way, you have all that power going through two wheels rather than four so tyre choice is very important.

I read it as EVO was 350bHp, Cerb is a guestimate 430bDp (not break horse power, but brake Donkey power - well, it is Blackpool !)

And thats the power rise, rather than getting an extra 70-80 ponies from the Cerb.....

430bhp - I very much doubt it! Unless you have a very long list of mods and rolling road numbers to back it up!

A Scooby / Evo can take pretty much anything you through at them up to an even over 400bhp as it is all going through something like 4x 225ish fat tyres.

You likely have 255 tyres on the Cerb anyway - any good tyre will do the job in this size, S02/3', Dunlops Sp9000's, Mich Pilot's. It is all down to you right foot when you only have the two rear driven wheels to put it through.

Anyway who wants endless grip - any monkey can drive it then (just like an Evo really)....

Your a cheeky fellow arnt you, all i want is some good advise on tyre choice but not of a guy like yourself who can quote remarks about a car that he does know.

This Pistonheads - so when people start banging on about number that big you have to question them. Doubt a 4.5 Cerb will make much more powwe tan you 350bhp Evo as std and likely less torque. Likley similar weight so only difference is the 2 vs 4wd. Should be loads of tyre in 17 (looks like on yours) x 255, can't see all the fuss over which Bridgestones. I'd get Pilots for general running or if you want stick see if if you can get yoko 048's (douby it) for it - would be serious track day or fast road rubber.

No insult meant really just a bit of fun from Tiv vs 4x4 (limitless grip bridgade) - just that 430bhp is WAY beyond Red Rose tuning! My SP9000's are great with 400bhp - maybe not the max grip you could fine - but give you a good level of communication wen they are sliding (happens alot!).
