Failed disc pads

Developed a hefty 'knock' on braking on the Chim recently and immediately thought a suspension bush had gone, maybe on the anti-roll bar or similar. Investigated this afternoon and all seemed well on the up and downey bits. Checked the calipers for play and found the drivers side inner pad had delaminated. Loads of friction material left (10mm+) but it had come unbonded from the backing plate. A well known, reputable make that I've used loads of on cars and bikes with no worries so I'm assuming there's probably a cause other than a manufacturing fault. Anyone else had this?

Doubt it. Prove they were fitted correctly. Prove you didn't damage them taking them out. Not worth the grief for a set of pads.
I know what you are saying ,but how can they say you fitted the pads wrong,its not rocket science.

They will. Unless you buy a lot of stuff from them and they value your business, they will.
It has happened to me a couple of times. The handbrake pads on the Wedges have been known to come away from the steel pad but that is primarily due to the small size more than anything and driving off with the hand brake applied. I had it happen to a pair of fronts after a serious case of overheating caused by a stuck internal seal that acted like a one way valve. The more I braked the more it pulled to one side as it wasn't releasing the pistons on that side. It is usually a symptom of a brake problem more than a fault.
