Sikaflex 221

Where do you get this stuff?

I've found a couple of online suppliers, but as I only want one tube, £8.50 for P&P seems a tad steep.

Any ideas where I can get some? Locally ideally - I'm just outside Ashford, Kent. I've tried my local Partco.

Is that the marine grade stuff, which I think it is, if so try a boat chandlers.

Might be worth trying Brett who are down your way - if not then Maidstone Builders Merchants, now owned by Jewsons so they should be able to source it.

The other option is you save some of your valuable time by not bothering to chase all over the place to get it - pay the £8.50 P&P & stop being such a tightwad

Why are you specifically looking for 221? looking at the data sheet 291 seems similar and appears to be much more readily available??

I was after 221 as I was led to believe from looking through PH that that is what TVR use.

I'm ready to be corrected though, if I'm wrong.

I would have thoght any decent motor factor that supplies the trade. Not that it'll help you out much, but Brown Brothers in Edinburgh sell it (where I got mine ); so for anyone in the Edinburgh area....that's the place! And if you need the marine/white sikaflex, then the Bosun's Locker at Port Edgar (South Queensferry) does that.

I had a trade card for Brown Brother, but the buggers closed my local outlet. Some people have no consideration for others.

I have no idea what TVR use (chewing gum sometimes i think ).. but it depends on where exactly your aplying it?. 221 does appear to have a higher tear strength if you really need it. I just used 291 to do my headlamps and I think if I tried to pull them out I'd rip the front off!!

I got some off ebay, although dont recall it being much less than what you have already been quoted.

Pretty much any of the Polyurethane sealant/adhesives will do for our applications and Tigerseal is about the cheapest and most readily available. Most decent motor factors stock it.
