Sorry to put a dampener on this, but if the purchase has only just happened I can't see that an application to the ACO will be accepted for this years race, LNT couldn't make it in last year and had been campaigning the car for longer than this.

And based on the last few years performances, two non-finishes and two back-of-grid finishes, the ACO aren't that likely to give the place away if someone with better potential, or better "media value" was to apply for a place.

But, I'd love to be proved wrong...

Humm... but if you are suggesting LNT didn't get in because they weren't campaigning for long enough then how come Peninsula's De Walt car got in for 2005? I don't understand? Rich...

p.s. you could put the opposite slant it and say that of the last 3 entries all 3 have finished the full 24 hours which is more than a lot of entries manage! R...

Was taking o Charlie about this last night... LNT appear to be keeping them for the time being. (with no plans to continue to race them that I can see)

Hadn't Pennisula been racing in LMES in 2004? I'd awlays thought that was the reason they'd been accepted.

In 2005 it finihsed (26th) but wasn't classified, it was over a 1000Km beyond the lead GT2 car in 10th place.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see it happen, but time is quite short now to get the team prepared for the Sebring 12 hours and other races used to judge entrance to Le Mans, all credit if they can pull it off, but LNT were well prepared, had good results and it didn't happen for them.

In 2003 the excitement and newness of the challenge helped TVR gain a place (IMO), we've had three goes now and there are other marquees waiting in the wings.

You may be right? There was some reason why they were chosen over Team LNT.

Team LNT weren't at Le Mans in 2005 because of some wrangle over ownership of the cars/team at the time when the entries had to be submitted, I think.

I do remember being told that it was a paperwork/red tape thing not their performance on the track that was the problem.

The car is still owned by John and Peninsula; it is just another team contracted to run it. RSR and Norma have links; but RSR are now running the Juno Britsports car as well.
