why do people buy tvrs

why do people buy tvrs if they're not prepared to drive them? I've said this before..
i sat at eurolink for 30mins on sunday morning, waiting for anybody to arrive for a drive, but i guess you've all got higher priorities, like polishing your tailpipes.
Or is it that your precious toys are locked away for the winter? I like to read the ladies column in sprint because it seems to me that the sw ldn driver drives daily and i quote; 'those testers don't know the soul of these cars'? well the soul of my car asks me to drive her, daily, just like a 21 year old lap dancer, (i'll be doing that while you polish those tailpipes chaps).
Yesterday was crisp and the roads were clear and dry. Other qoutes from tvr owners; 'the people are lovely', 'real passion for driving' don't quote my quotes, why would you bother, you've read them, i was looking forward to it (tvr ownership and club stuff) guess i'll buy a lotus, saw plenty of people driving those on sunday.
As a final groan.. those of you that organise the meets, you're hardly insighting and indeed making a good impression for those who would come to your club(midkent)..maybe the rumours are true...
personally if it were up to me i'd put in the effort, like sunday morning.

For some, they are a fun summers toy. Others like to drive them all the time. I had a S3C which I put close to 30K on the clock in 3 years using it every day for work, come rain or shine. I sometimes even left the lid on..
I'd be doing the same with the V8, but I have a 500 mile round trip and currently live in a not so nice area of town for work, so she stays safely tucked up out of harms way and doesn't get used much..
I think you'll find the Kent meet is in two weeks time.

Well there were three TVRs (and me with a non-TVR, as my clutch has gone kapput) at the other end of Kent, near Chiddingstone Causeway, enjoying a hoon, a fantastic meal at the Little Brown Jug, and a hoon again.
There are a good number of folks who often take their cars out for a good blat around the Kent country-side, sometimes in groups, but often on their own, don't be put off that no one has joined you from posting on here.
Trying the eGroups of the two local regions (Mid Kent and SE London / NW Kent) and suggest a drive, even better start at a greasy spoon (Nells Cafe in Gravesend on the A2 for instance) and you'll have half a dozen cars there in no time.

Actually I was amazed on saturday .. I drove from Kidder to louth in lincs and saw 5 chims and a Tuscan...
and oddly quite a lot of 911's but none of the usual hords of poxters.. including one chap in a 997 c4s that if he's still driving like that it'll be in a ditch by now
although I'll admit my chims not been out of the garage for about 6 months cos the diff needs to come out !!!

I know its the other end of the county but you like driving your car so it shouldnt be a problem - a few come here from your neck of the woods & I would be happy to introduce you to them.

Dont be put off - theres loads happening this year & its early days yet. I didnt know a soul with a Tiv when I bought mine, now the phone doesnt stop ringing!!

Sat I was with and I saw a lambo which doubled as a TVR recovery truck
Tuscan, 2 other Chims, 2 Cerbs, 350i, Porkers,Aston.. do i need to go on...
Last Saturday nite around 11pm 240+ cars met up 100+ were TVRs.. Where were you?? the rest included a Ford GT, Lamdo, Various Fezza's, Aston AM V8 x3 etc
