Leather seat refurbisment:
Discussion
Having got the bodywork sorted out suddenly other things don't look so good...
Anyone had any recent experience with refurbishing or re-connolising (?) leather seats: I've got magnolia leather in the griff and though they are in good reasonable condition I would like to improve them more than my cleaning patience allows.... Dont fancy 'painting' them so wondered if anyone has any suggestions or recommendations in the West London / Bucks / Berks area?

I did mine using...
wait for it...
Cif! - following a recommendation on the Chimaera forum.
It's abrasive, so go very easy - but it shifts the ingrained dirt. Advisable to only really use it where necessary and wipe it off thoroughly, but, (unless anyone can recommend otherwise) the proprietary 'gentle' cleaners, with 'delicate pH balance', 'sympathetic cleansers and natural oils' along, no doubt with some bumble bee fluff, won't touch the ingrained dirt in creases etc. Used a quality leather cleaner (Autoglym) to shift anything that remained, and then treated to a couple of applications of Autoglym leather conditioner. Seats are now clean, supple and smell lovely.
Edited to say: use a toothbrush to gently work Cif into the creases to get the dirt out of them.

IIRC Brioss got his seats for his old V8S recovered/new leather and rewadded at AR Pound in Baldock for about £200 - £250....
I could be wrong but those figures stick in my head for some reason
... Ciff seams to do a good job as well, saw a spectaculr wedge that had pain stakingling cleaned with Ciff..... looked
Guess it all depends on money, patience and condition of the leather

ive used poundy in baldock also on my old Lotus's
has always done a good job - only thing to point out is he is very busy
so book in and dont be vague with time scales!
wondering whether he could do my cerb in a retrim colour change to red??
at a price I wouldnt have a heart attack over??
I just love black cars with red interior ... gee got me thinking again now!

Grifter....Great idea...
Having braved the cupboard under the sink for the first time (not familiar with the dark arts of kitchen cleaning) tried Ciff on part of one of the seats last night:
Amazing ! only did a small patch to test but the results are astounding: It has removed so much ingrained dirt (including from the lines in the leather)without effecting the colour: Not quite as new but so much better : Going to do both seats when I have a couple of hours spare - might not need to re finish or re-cover...
Thanks
