Does somebody know how to remove the body of a 350i and replace it with a tuscan body. I know that is not the right thing to do but it's the way to get my dreamcar on the road in Holland. I'm looking for suppliers of tuscan parts aswell

thank in advance

Shouldn't this be on the Wedge site? Should be quite easy in theory - though time consuming. It's already been done to a 390SE. The main expense will be in buying the new body.

Uummm.... Why not just buy an 2nd hand Tuscan? they're often available for around 11-13K minus engine at the end of season (like now) that way you get the rather fine chassis, brakes, roll cage £400/corner shox etc etc? Even with your 350 engine in it, it'll still go rather well as the cars are only 800Kg.

It's not possible to register an ex-race only car in Holland but it is legal to convert a car to look like something else.

Why not build it, then register it in the UK then export it to Holland? Sounds like less work than the 350i route.

Surely it'll just get registered in the UK as a TVR 2-seater sports or something similar

Anyone done a similar thing to an 'M' series? I prefer the looks of the Tuscan bonnet, but don't know if it fits......

Simon

This thread is generally about the Tuscan Racer, I have no idea if that bonnet fits onto an M, I expect that it wouldn't without major mods (it is probably wider than an M)

If however you are looking to put a 60s/70s Tuscan bonnet onto an M, then given the fact that some Vixen S4's had M series chassis' then this could be done without too much grief (you would probably have to relocate the spare wheel though).

I meant the Tuscan racer bonnet. I agree, probably too wide. The front track of a tuscan racer is about 4" wider than an 'M'.....

But you could always cut out the middle 4" - the reverse of Issy's Morris Minor trick.

True, its all fireglass after all. Anyone know where you can get Tuscan race bodywork from? Having watched them race, the bodywork must be mass produced somewhere....
