Nearest Club Meeting??

I live near Crewe in (south) Cheshire, thinking of trading my Alfa in the next 12 mths for something more exciting and I'm starting to realise it NEEDS to be a TVR. I've started online reseaching and a Chimera almost looks too good too be true to me....
I like to meet up with some club members and chat over the (prehaps) obvious positives of TVR ownersip, but also the hidden day to day stuff, and get a general idea of running costs etc...
Is there a meet near me?
I've just joined the Car Club and its not clear (to me) if there is.
Any other new owners out there? What were your experiences? Where did you get your advice? did it prove correct/true?
I've been warned of the unreliable TVR rumours, but was also warned that Alfa electrics would lead to house repossession....this proved false, so I'm willing to listen....
Sorry if this is ramblin', but thanks for any help/advice!

Have a hunt through the Griffith and Chimaera forums. There's plenty of posts about buyers guides, reliability and so on. There's also some useful stuff on the TVRCC website.

Have a look in the back of Sprint. All the club regional organisers are listed in there. Pick the closest to you...

The closest meet to you, I think will be Staffordshire and Shropshire at "The Mill at Worston" nr Stafford, 2 miles if J14 of the M6

Next meet will be a quick RV at the pub then off into wales for a drive - you could turn up and see if someone needs a co driver..

Let us know and we will make sure you are welcome and give directions

since you live in Cheshire perhaps the CHESHIRE region may not be too far away. If its too far then perhaps you dont really want a "drivers" car.

Thanks for the suggestions (well, most of them!).
Looks like the meet is on the 1st Sunday, if I can't make the Welsh trip, I will definately look them up in the next couple of months. I hope they don't make non-TVR drivers feel quite like 'bugattiqueen' (I didn't see any 'Cheshire' section!)...chill out mate, we all have to start somewhere...

Mate - you will most definitely be welcome - either with or without a TVR - one of our members turns up in an highly modded RX7 - it is more about the atmosphere and enthusiasm about cars. To be in the TVRCC you just need to an enthusiast of the cars, not an owner.

The reason I said the Staffs/Shrops meet was that although you are in cheshire - this one is closer to Crewe I think....

I dont think Hele (BugattiQueen) was being unfriendly, perhaps something was lost in translation. She has a sister in law who lives in Cheshire and often comes to the Cheshire meeting when she is in UK. You could not meet a more pleasant lady who probaly knows more about cars than anyone on these forums. Her family have been in the motor trade for 85 years and her great grandfather used to race for Bugatti. Drives amongst other cars a 5 litre Chimaera so could probably give good advice to prospective owner. sTeVeR ps all owners and enthusiasts are made welcome at the Cheshire /Mancester meeting

Apologies then if that is the case, just appeared to me to be coming across as slightly sarcastic about him "not really wanting a drivers car". As you say maybe just a case of something lost in translation.
