Merry Christmas all!

Let this be a lesson to anyone going out for that blast on xmas day when the roads are clear...

Spending xmas with the family, my nan, of all people, wanted to go for a ride in the Chimaera so earlier today we took to the roads for a relaxing drive... Unfortunately, a few miles from home I rounded a corner to find mud on a wet road and, well, ended up going for a real spin before ending up in a pile of brambles...

Thankfully no one was coming the other way otherwise it could have been a lot, lot worse!

Diver training... - yeh I know!!!

Thankfully we were both ok, a little shook-up but ok. In fact we were have a damn good laugh about it on the way back!

Anyway, I was able to get a passing 4X4 to drag the car out of the brambles and was back home shortly after. A quick clean of the car reveal virtually no damage... except a crack above the front near-side wheel-arch...

So, me thinks a new front-end...

Anyone got an idea of the cost while I'm getting drunk this afternoon trying to forget about it?

Oh well!

Cheers all, & have a good one!

Mark
In remarkably good spirits, considering!

I don't think it is a front end you need...it would be a body off Suggest you find a decent fibre glass specialist bodyshop to make the repairs and respray for you. I don't know anywhere in your area, but you could call TVR Bodyshop in Bristol for advice (they are on the web).
Good luck!

Surely you don't mean "body off" as a diagnostic - that sounds way too melodramatic. The crack in the wing is probably because the wing got flexed in the bushes. Check toe-in and camber all round if your wheels hit any solid objects as you left the road. That in itself will give you info on whether to0 investigate the chassis further. Don't get too depressed yet. But do save up for a roll-cage before you take Granny off-road in a TVR again!

A new front end costs appx 8K, but I doubt you'd need that to repair a crack (& it's not a 'body off' job BTW).
Whereabouts are you? I had a front end repair recently & did a bit of research into bodyshops in the S.E. beforehand.

Just checked your profile - so ignore the bit about bodyshops in the S.E.!
