Afternoon all,
Took my Chimaera out for a run this afternoon and my youngest son decided to come too.
He is a rather good drift merchant and so we decided to try to find a deserted ( large ) car park and have a short drifting "doughnut" session. He drives an early eighties rear wheel drive import that weighs about 700 kilos and has approx 160 bhp. So we found the site and had 30 mins or so doing the above. Excellent, no cars or people around. Then my son noticed a young family watching us from a short distance away - so we decided enough was enough and we left. On the way out I saw them wave at us, nice one for Christmas Day!!!

Today was great for driving. I went south towards Hastings on the back roads, then North on the A21. Had a very pleasant time with a 911 on the Tunbridge Wells / Tonbridge bypass. In not sure quite the speed, but we definatly werent doing 165!

roll on next xmas day!!!

Went out for half an hour around 3ish, found two lots of alkies both driving Escorts home, waving all over a dual carriageway, with me sitting behind wondering whether they'd be likely to hit me if I undertook.

Strangely the "safety" camera on that road did nothing to stop them.

Otherwise top down, loud and fast driving, with the best weather we've had for a few weeks - great fun

ABSOLUTELY !! : : :

Decided to take the Chim out to the relatives for Christmas Day (instead of the family car). It's a fairly long drive, so my wife and I enjoyed the drive.

We came home tonight and again, a perfect night for driving the TVR.

Hi everyone and Merry Christmas to all Pistonheaders, especially TVR ones. I too got out in my Griff this afternoon for an hour or so....wonderful. Hardly a car on the road and lovely weather for roof off...if only every weekend was like this. It made me remember why I had got the car (apart from the self-indulgent polishing sessions!!!)after several weeks of poor weather and very restricted use.Surprised not to see any other TVR's out though.Really looking forward to getting out more in 2003. Have a good new year everyone.

Yup, quality day for roof of driving, even had the sun shining down occasionally... Cold but fun!

Jason, so you have the Wedge more easily accessible then? I trust you'll be joining us on the next Surrey Run?

Great driving day! Took the Tuscan topless around the B/stk ring road many times giving family members a Christmas treat! Well actually it was for me but they gave me a good excuse!

Happy Christmas all.

took the griff out at about 9pmm last night on a quick blast home from the parents and kinda overdid the speed bit on a twisty dual carriage way (50 limit). got pulled over by the police, thought my time was up, ban etc. the policeman, was very polite and mentioned that i was doing over 100mph and i apologised etc. he said it was a warning and not to do it again i couldn't believe my luck, he then proceeded to talk about the car and mentioned that his brother had just bought a tvr
xmas spirit eh!!

That was Christmas spirit in full effect! He must have had a great xmas to be in a good enough mood to let that one slide. Tis the season though. Shame it's not xmas everyday

I will indeed. Time to bring a little touch of history to you surrey lot ... give you a chance to experience cars without Cats (never fitted!)
The NOx wont be fitted, neither will the new rollbar, but she'll be MOT'd and Taxed and ready to Burn Rubber

or to make an appearance at the Sunbury Office

Mick,

Was it you that I saw early afternoon (Xmas Day) on the stretch between Jct 5 and the A30?

If not merry Xmas to whoever it was.

Neil.
